I think Algebra 2 Honors is just like Algebra 2 but with two units of trig than 1 unit which is Algebra 2 because Algebra 2 the not honors takes identities and functions and put them into one chapter.

sure! so my high school didn't offer a ap lang course and instead everyone took american literature but since i went to a college prep school, weve been learning how to write analysis/compare and contrast essays since freshmen year. because of that, my school let anyone who wanted to take the ap lang exam sign up and held two review sessions leading up to it. i was busy so i couldn't make it but since the exam was just two essays (i think?) and a mc portion i felt pretty prepared going in to it since the mc was a lot like the act or sat writing section where it was mostly grammar stuff. overall, if you feel decent about writing compare/contrast essays (also like the act essay portion) and grammar skills, it shouldn't be that hard. i don't think there's a lot of outside material most people need to study specifically for. hope this helps!

aw thanks sm!!! means so much that you thought it was helpful :) idk if id be a good source for debating advice though. i debated in michigan which didnt really have a competitive circuit for pf debate so it made it a little easier for me.

i reported the hours i expected to spend for the entire year. it was easier for the activity i did since i already knew beforehand how much time i would put into it throughout the whole year

i self reported my ap scored so i still have to officially send it to them to get credit but i think im getting credit for all of them except ap lang. also gl!!

yup! i applied to michigan, michigan state, and case western but i withdrew all my apps when i got into penn so i never actually got a decision from them.

3.6 isn't bad at all and you have two years left! I think junior and senior grades will count a lot more than your underclassmen ones!

thanks! penn is need blind so when the application readers see your application, they won't know your financial situation so it isn't factored into the decision. penn also promises to meet 100% of financial need so if you get in, you most likely won't have to worry about it being wayyyy too expensive for you.

I took algebra 1 my freshman year as well and I felt really behind, but you can still get ahead! I’m currently a sophomore and I’m taking geometry and algebra 2 consecutively, and I’m taking precalculus this summer. If you plan on doing that, then you can take ap calculus ab ur junior or take ap calculus bc like I am (online bc my school doesn’t offer it😑). point is, you always have options!

I took multi first semester and lin. alg second semester as a class my school offered!i don't have a syllabus but from what my friends in college told me, the class was pretty much the same as their college course so maybe you can find one online? Also, if I were you, I wouldn't have taken bc over the summer simply because I don't think I would have been prepared for the ap exam by the time may rolled around. in the case of penn, they only accepted 5 for credit so it might be disadvantageous for you if you dont do as well on the ap exam. junior year was so hectic for me that i wouldn't have had time to review as much either. however, if you think you know the material really well, go ahead! just plan out what you would take after multi and lin. alg too because at my school, that was the highest level math course offered. also, another thing to consider -- a lot of colleges don't accept multi /linalg hs school classes for credit and you would have to take the college's final in the fall to get credit. so if you take it junior year, just keep in mind you would have to retain that knowledge till the fall. hope this helps!

@@haleykang8156 Thank you! Sry if I confused you. I'm still taking Calc BC as a class next year (for the transcript), but just wanna get a head-start. BC is the highest class offered at my school. I wanted to take it this year (sophomore), but my teacher explained that it wouldn't be on the transcript because I'd be self-studying it. My usual classes I'm taking are Geometry Hon and Pre-Calc Hon, but I'm self-studying Calc AB now (not on my transcript). No one at my school really self-studies anything, but I enjoy self-studying. I'm taking 5 APs in school next year, but I want to self-study one. I'm not sure yet, but which would you recommend: AP Stat or AP Physics 1? For Multi, I'm thinking of getting a textbook and using the free MIT-OCW lectures. Thank you so much!

i recommend ap physics in my opinion. i didn't take ap stat personally but from what i have heard, its a lot of memorization and reading like a history class. for me, the time commitment just wasn't worth it for me. also, i think physics is a lot more challenging than stats and also a lot of colleges accept physics for credit!

Not sure if you’re still looking for an answer, but your rank puts you at a pretty big disadvantage. Your course rigor is good and will fill in that requirement. Your chances really depends on your SAT score, ECs, and essays since it’s a holistic process. After that, it’s just about getting lucky since the admissions process will be a crapshoot because of the students who are deferring admission to next year. Hope this helps, and good luck!

personally, i thought the act was wayyyy easier than the sat (i took a practice sat at home and i stopped grading it a quarter way through because i was doing so bad lol). the act has four sections - math, reading, writing, and science - and i think most of the sections range between 35-60 minutes each. there's also an essay portion thats optional (i would recommend everyone to take it even if you're a bad writer like me lol). compared to the sat, i think the act is easier but there's more of a time crunch so i had to rush for a lot of the test. the sat is harder but from what my friends have told me, there's a lot more time to go back and look over answers and some even took a nap after they were done with some sections lol. hope this helped and best of luck!
