+DeepLife “Deeplife” Just remember though, some things are best due to their simplicity. It's easy to recreate Rothko but then again recreation is not ever as important as creation.

I'm very late to this conversation, but-- was it the stars you initially put down with the first spray paint underpainting that you were hinting at being hidden symbolism in this painting?

I've watched your videos in the past on color but I have another question I hope you can answer: an art teacher once said that paint will never have more intensity(or saturation or something) than when it comes out of tube and i never understood what he meant; because you can mix paints to increase saturation/intensity right? so what did he mean?

don't be so technical , just paint .

+uninspired He's right. You can' mix paint to be more saturated than any of the colours being mixed. There are ways of retaining a saturation and vibrance to a secondary colour through glazing, however it will not be more saturated, just equally saturated with a good glow due to transparency. More on this in colour videos to come.
