Jimi actually waited all day outside of Stax to meet and trade licks with Cropper, who was busy with a session. If you're a Hendrix fan, pick up a copy of Roomful of Mirrors, an amazing biography. Steve Cropper is an amazing and soulful musician, thanks for posting this.

The speakers they show were called "Voice of the Theater" and were used in lots of recording studios in the 50's and 60's, they were not used because they couldn't afford anything better, they actually were the top of the line speakers in those years.

It's unusually to see a 60's tele (steve cropper's tele) with a 6 saddle bridge I thought it would have 3 on it like normal tele's unless he modified it.

That's not one of Cropper's original two Teles, They were rosewood board 60-62 ish guitars. That guirtar may or may not have ever belonged to Cropper.

even the Premere guitar host doesn't know an ES175 from an ES225. SAD

More like a Tele autographed by Ike Turner.....looks too recent to actually be a tele owned and played by turner
@jameshoskins89026 жыл бұрын
a modern tele at that - very few pics of Ike with anything but Strats. The teles I've seen him with were 50's guitars.
