I'm with the good judge - this was such bad judgement, it was beyond comedy. As soon as the daughter handed me a title with someone else's name on it, I would have handed it right back and said "Give me my money back. When you properly title and register the car, then we can discuss if I'll buy it." That car could have been stolen for all anyone knows. Then to add the plaintiff's husband just slamming into the defendant's mother's car for no apparent reason and the plaintiif and hubby ending up arrested or with warrants... just ridiculous.

Then because the plaintiffs cannot get the title the father drives drunk on no license and no registration into the defendant 's mother's car at 05.00 am and the defendant gets arrested for a breach of the peace. That poor son. Then the defendant's mother wittering on about something she doesn't need to get signed to sort out the title but of course her printer didn't pick it up. Unbelievable.

A used car that’s selling for $1,100.00 clearly has issues that will probably cost more than that to fix. Also, if the person selling the car isn’t listed as the owner on the title; then that person may be a “car flipper”. A car flipper is a person that buys and sells used cars for as little as possible and then sells them for as much as possible to someone that actually “thinks” they will get a decent reliable car for $1,100.00… This car flipper WILL NOT register the car in their name because they only brought it to sell it and also because the don’t want to pay any taxes on the car… They actually know nothing about the car they brought 20 minutes ago from some guy in a McDonald’s parking lot 20 minutes ago, but will lie to the buyer telling them the car is in good shape…

Even though the title had someone else’s name, the plaintiff need not divulge that, and then she could get it registered. Otherwise would have to go through extra steps for two sales. A bigger issue in this case is the emissions. If that doesn’t pass , your in big trouble. It may be a sensor which is a simple fix, but in some cases it may be the engine. In that case, one can export it, if they find someone that exports. Or in some jurisdictions, one can get a refund by law, then try to get a hold of the seller for a refund. The seller then could export.
