Staying On An Active Volcano in Banda Neira 🇮🇩

Күн бұрынToday we are going to go on a little stroll on Gunung Api on Banda Naira. This volcano is still active and it last erupted in 1988, spewing ash high into the air and spewing lava on one side of the island. There are still around 1000 people living on the island. Today, I show you some of the island and we meet some of the friendly people living here.

Hey, Nick. I am Japanese, but my mother is Ambonese. We fled the Poso religious conflict and now live in Japan and haven't been back to Ambon in a long time. I enjoy watching your videos with my family. Please come visit us at our house in Ambon sometime.

Yep, it's hard back then about poso, cause im from Palu. But nowdays there is no such thing like that in Poso, so if you are came back to Indonesia and travel to Center Sulawesi, you can hit me up

The price of sea urchins has soared this year, and seeing so many sea urchins means that the local environment is clean and pollution-free! The local natural landscape is truly amazing and beautiful! I also love the local pace of life, so relaxed and everything is awesome, thanks for sharing! P.S. You really have to wear sunscreen and protect yourself, Hollywood is waiting for you! 👍🤩🙌

I have been to Banda a couple of times. Fantastic food- ampas terigu (coconut bread), ikan bakar colo colo, delicious seaweed of some variety, tuna steaks that I first thought were pork chops with the seasoning and texture (confusing!) and rujak that used the fruit flesh of nutmeg. I snorkelled a lot, and I regretted not being able to scuba dive so much that it inspired me to get my PADI. My wife’s Aunt is Bandanese.

that's not plastics scattered away on ocean dude, they were floats/buoy for toils/fishing nets. ofc they were gone after they finished fishing.

Hi Nick, while you’re in Banda, you can visit Latoka Fish Factory. It’s in Neira. You can meet my cousin, Ms. Yul. They call her, Oma Yul. That factory exports fish to Japan & America.

Hi Nick, love your vlogs, been watching your vids in Indonesia in the past few months, including your recent ones in Ambon and Banda...you have great observation skill and willingness to interact with local people around you, big thumbs up👍...btw in case you have not watched it, there is an excellent documentary style movie in Netflix about Banda, it is called "Banda The Dark Forgotten Trail"....try to search and watch it...you may have better insight and appreciation for this beautiful island...

Nope. Banda Neira band is not from Banda Neira. It’s musical group formed by Ananda and Rara Sekar from Bandung. I love their songs.

Room 01 is where I stayed while on vacation and returned to Ambon using the Ngapulu ship on that day, July 16, 2022. Some of my belongings were also still left there
