Stealth Camping In Garbage Castle

This week I went camping in a beautiful garbage sculpture in Lethbridge Alberta known as The Thing, Rust Rock Cathedral, or simply Garbage Castle. I had to be a little stealthy as I wasn't sure of the actual laws regarding camping in the city river valley. Set up camp as usual and had a reasonably good sleep hunkered down under the stars.

Besides Steve if you want to watch just a good fun camping video check out Matthew Posa and his dog Monty, and their camping adventures. He doesn’t do stealth camping, but he has done some bushcraft. we’re not talking bear Grylls level, more like the level that the average person could do. his dog Monty, A beautiful Collie is such a character, and just loves being out with his human, I have never seen a dog so happy, to just settle down, curl up and ride in the back of a canoe if they do any lakeside camping. hot, cold, being massacred by flies and mosquitoes, Matthew is out there for us, just like Steve is.

@DBREW

we only ascribe fear to objects based on how we were primed to feel about them. doll parts as an element of horror is a tired trope. if you can shift your perspective by telling yourself "it's just a hunk of plastic vacuum formed in the shape of a head in factory," the horror derives more from its non-biodegradability. horror tropes come & go, but the doll parts as hunks of plastic will haunt us for 100 generations.

I like you Steve. Makes me want to make my own adventures, camp in wilderness and enjoy step 2. I live in Finland and I know a lot of great places I could go to camp. I have not been camping in 18 years when I was 10 years-old. I've recently found you on KZfaq and it makes me smile when I watch your videos. I might start looking for tent or a day I would go on an adventure of my own. I could borrow equipment from my dad. WOW you are amazing. I don't know if you are reading this but I like your videos a lot and you are the one that is pushing me to the direction of making my on trip to places or just to adventure sleeping outside. I've been really eager to start uploading videos on KZfaq but I haven't found the way or type of videos I would like to upload. You inspire me Steve. Keep up the good work. :)

I was trying to explain it to my husband. I told him about beautiful wife and crazy neighbor too. He now thinks he should have a KZfaq channel because he says he has Steve beat; he has a crazy neighbor (female though) and his beautiful wife is also a bit crazy. I'm not offended, just looking forward to some step 2's though I prefer Glen Fiddich or Glenlivet. Either way it is hard to go wrong with a good scotch and stars overhead

If I were the artist, I would have hidden tiny speakers throughout the structure that every once in a great while play a voice saying a short sentence, or maybe giggling. Short enough and soft enough to where people wouldn't be sure if they actually heard something. 😋
