How To Make Bhapa Sandesh - Steamed Mango Sandesh - Mango Recipe
Sandesh is a very popular sweet of Bengal.There are countless varieties of shandesh. In this video I showed how to make the easiest sandesh using mangoes that require just 3 ingredients.

Ingredients required for making bhapa sandesh -
* 1 & 1/2 liters of full cream milk
* 6 tablespoons white vinegar or lemon juice + 2 tablespoons water
* 1/3 rd cup mango pulp. Use very sweet ripe mangoes.
* 3/4 th cup sugar (taste before steaming and add more if you like it to be sweeter)
* pinch of salt
* 1/4 th teaspoon cardamom (elaichii) powder
* 4 or 5 threads of saffron (optional)
* chopped almonds and pistachios for garnish (optional)
* use unflavored oil for greasing container. You can even place a baking paper ( parchment paper) in the bottom of your container and then apply oil all over the paper with a brush.

Hi Bumbi. I thought we would have a bit of a change this week and try some of your other types of recipes. This is wonderful. I got some deliciously sweet mangoes and made my own mango pulp. I knew before I even steamed the Sandesh, that it tasted lovely, from tasting the mixture in the bullet blender. Absolutely yummy. (recipe 39) Thank you xxx

@@CurriesWithBumbi Can we use readymade paneer instead? If so, how many grams?

O no I haven’t measured the chana. Paneer would taste a bit dry but you can use it. I think 150 to 200 gm paneer will be okay. Taste the mix before adding it to the container and add more of sugar if required.

Yes Veena I remember that but sorry for being so late in uploading one. There are countless ways of making sandesh. As I am a seeker of easy recipes so I chose the easiest one but it is very very delicious I can assure you that.

Can we bake the bhapa sandesh in an oven instead of steaming? If so, for how long and at what temperature? Thanks Bumbi for this recipe. It reminded me of my mother-in-law -- she was so good at making all kinds of bhapa sandesh.
