I would have bought him dinner after seeing that. It's sad that homeless people in this country have to resort to cooking their food over a sewer opening. When we spend billions on bombs and warfare.

@@jessicagraves2869 it's got to be a sewer grate.... no? I mean even if it isn't I'm sure people use it as one or throw nasty trash etc. down there? It just seems extremely unhygienic. As well as a waste of heat if that is what it is used for.

@@CharmagnCody-mw6zr usually a sewer cover is solid or if it does have holes they are much smaller. It does seem gross, however those grates are hot. The last big city I lived in a man and woman were driving their car over a steam grate and it was malfunctioning. The man and woman were burned badly, one of them died due to their injuries. The man that is cooking his steaks on the grate is probably homeless. Unhygienic to you and I yes but to him food is food. Any garbage that falls in will be steam cleaned 🤢. If that is hot enough to cook meat then it is hot enough to kill most germs. Because this system uses water to heat buildings, it also replaces water heaters. In movies based in the US they will show steam rising from the asphalt and sidewalks year-round, that is the same system.
