I have always seen the Kinect as more of an accessory. In that regard it actually works very well. I have had my Kinect since launch and it recognizes my voice perfectly, signs me in automatically and generally works wonderfully. It only took several years of usage. Only. Microsoft recognized the uses it can have as an accessory. The Kinect 2.0 works very well but voice recognition and other small features only go so far when the motion tracking is still all sorts of goofy.

Maybe in the future we might make a more precise and affordable system than this brick. We should call this the Diskinect,

Its not so much that the hardware doesn't work, its that it is incredibly difficult to program for it. As a dedicate gaming accessory it still has a long way to go but its not as bad as people make it out to be.

The Kinect would benefit greatly from sensors the gamer wears for more accurate readings. Look at Nintendo and Sony. The Wii and Wii U use an infrared sensor bar but also uses an infrared emitter on both the Wii Remotes and the Wii U GamePad. The PlayStation Move uses the PlayStation Eye Camera and a light up ball at the end of the Move controller. Kinect only uses cameras and many detection sensors and software but it barely can read anything. Kinect 2.0 is much better but has the same problems, unable to correctly read anything. The Kinect should have come bundled with sensors the gamer wears. It would have made the Kinect purely awesome and immersion.

They should just stop making Kinect games all together. Let's face it. The creators, Microsoft if I'm not mistaken, screwed up with this console.

I'd stick with the WASD keys to move the mech, of course, but I'm also thinking maybe you could use the Q and E keys to look left and right within your cabin, scroll up and down to lean forwards to and away from the glass window and to use your periscope, etc. Also, if anyone has a suggestion, I'm thinking of setting up a proper petition for PC port or an entirely new game for the PC, so feel free to add them to my comment thing.

Yeah, since the game relies so much on player gestures, the first thing the developers should have asked themselves is, "can the Kinect handle this?" before they wrote a single line of code. If the answer is "no" they should have developed for a different platform or interface.

Funny thing... my good old Eyetoy for the PS2 still works, and games for it works as well, some of them are even fun! Developers should know the limits of the kinect or whatever they develop for. Kinect was clearly not designer for such games.

Well, Red Orchestra 2's tank combat is pretty good if you have a bunch of friends. You can have up to 4 crew members in one tank, which means 4 friends working with each other to win. For example, you can tell your friend to drive forward, or your gunner to target infantry. I've played it with one friend and already it's very realistic. Solo, it's playable, but not as good as if you were with mates.

It's also pretty good in the FPS genre. Very good suppression simulation too! If you are fired upon by machineguns you will slow down and get disorientated.
