In this video we use Steel seal which claims it repairs head gaskets we will find out
We have a 2005 BMW 320 petrol the head gasket is gone so we try some steel seal to see if it will work and seal the head gasket
If it does work obviously the saving is huge the customer took the risk and said we'll give it a go
Not sure how long it will last time will tell

Have an 03 Ford F-150, 5.4 L, that I’d bought used with 120,000 in the Summer of 2017. In September 2017, I was driving when it developed a misfire and began coughing up steam out of the tailpipe. Showed all the signs of a “previous” liquid head gasket repair. So… did some research… and bought Steel Seal. Worked… for 6 months. Did the same thing again in March 2018. Called the company. They honored their agreement and sent me another batch. Used it, and 40,000 miles later… still going strong! I’m sold!

I've used it since it was new to the market, and I've never been disappointed. Sometimes a proper repair is uneconomical, this is always worth a try before you scrap the car.

I have a Series 2 Landrover with a cracked head in two places tried this product three years ago as the vehicle was spitting water out of the exhaust and getting milk shake under the rocker cover, cleaned all the gunk off including the sump and used this products before going down the root of a new reconditioned head. Since using Steel Seal I've not had an issue and driven over twenty five thousand miles with no more coolant leak issues, it absolutely works and I did use this exact products as there are very similar one's on the market that state they do the same job.

we use this at our dealership all the time its a godsend, this product is absolutely fantastic, at first I was hesitant but after using it on several motors this is our go-to solution for head gasket repair, however, please don't use this if you have a head gasket crack which is quite wide as this is meant as a quick easy fix for minor gasket repair and you won't magickly repair your head if the metal has widened too much so always make sure the damage is minimal and this will 100% do the job

Iv used this on my mk6 2.4 transit when a hose split and did the head gasket in, when started up it would blow gas through the expansion tank so I knew that ment head gasket, I flushed the system, added cold water and then the steel seal, ran up with heater on for 40min then turned off and can back an hour n half later, started it up and wow 😳 it worked! 4 months on it still going strong!

Just used this on my Lexus 2.2 diesel exactly like the vid! Be sure though to do a prediagnosis, checking for hose leaks, radiator leaks, proper functioning of the thermostat, oil contamination and make sure your fans work (you can check this easily by turning you A/C on when idling, they should kick in). You also might want to look to see whats coming out of your tail pipe before treatment and after treatment to see if there is any visible change. The stuff works with existing antifreeze in most cars, unless the coolant has been contaminated with oil, in which case just flush out and stick plain water in. So that is my advice but definitely worth the money.

I bought a Mk4 Mondeo diesel privately last year. During the inspection of the engine bay the guy that sold me the car told me had conveniently "lost" the expansion tank cover plug. After driving it home 10 miles I was getting dirty oily steam coming through the heater vents and surprise surprise the water level had dropped to the point of being virtually empty - diagnosis blown CHG My mechanic said it would need top of the engine strip down, new cam chain and depending on whether it was just the gasket or a problem in the head or block. like a crack or warp etc it was going to be the best part of £800-£1000. I asked him what he thought of these kinds of miracle fixes and the answer was that it might be worth a try.... "shit or bust" So I tried to use this product which cost 39.99 and following the instructions to the letter it all seemed to be going okay until my top heater hose blew (very dramatically) after around 15mins of running it on tick-over. Apparently the steam building up in the cylinder found the weakest point. My question:- Anybody have any idea if this stuff works when you leave the expansion cover off (or loose enough for steam to escape until the engine has "sealed") Does it need the coolant pressure to work it's magic? I can't be the only person who this has happened to. I want to give it one last go before I scrap the thing which would be a shame as it is a really nice motor aside from this problem but I just don't have the cash for a rebuild
@liamgbooth
@liamgbooth 6 жыл бұрын
TheComputec You can help the sealing effect if this is happening by taking a spark plug out of the cylinder wherever a leak is present. Allow it to misfire during the procedure.

Great to see vids like this so thanks appreciated, I’ve often wondered whether this is any good for say an older car not far from scrap but worth keeping going etc - I mean what’s the worse that could happen you have to either decide to crush or get it done the hard way.

Hiya mate im thinking of giving this a go on my car that has just started mixing its oil and coolant. The radiator cap is gunky but the oil filler cap is hardly noticable at the moment so im thinking i stand the best chance of it working if i try sooner rather than later. Would you recomend flushing the coolant first or just tip it straight in the slightly oil coolant i currently have? Car is 20years old so nothing to loose really Many thanks 👍🤞

I have used it on a corrado g60 with season-plate (this mostly means in germany, you can drive the car in summer, in winter its not allowed- minimized tax, insurance and so on.... for better understanding) however, my headgasket was blown in september and i didn't want to spent time with repairing the last weeks of the year allowed to drive. so i tried steel seal - and big surprise - it worked! In 2018 I wanted to change the motor, but I found no time. but still running with steel seal - surely up to high speed. I have nearly forgotten to have fixed the headgasket with snakeoil XD... but last week my generator broke. and with it the belt for g-glader and...waterpump. and this on german autobahn. no need to say, that the water temperature went to hell in short time. and now the motor has a coolant leak again. so I will open it soon and have a look at the inner side of the motor, thermostat and so on, it will be a good time to make a definite conclusion whether there is gump in the system or not from the sealing liquid ;) may be, I will try steelseal again :oÞ

The 64,000 dollar question is "how bad was the blowing gasket". If you're lucky enough to spot the symptoms of a failing head gasket before it gets too serious fair enough. But for most of us its steam/misfire/mayonnaise/pressurising which realistically seems to be too much for these types of additives. Like a lot of people I'm interested to see how this develops. The issue will be, even if the additive works, whether or not you can trust the car again until the next time it fails?

I doubt its worth doing a £1500 head gasket on a (7-9 year old?) BMW anyway. There are plenty of other expensive failures about to start happening. Plus your probably going to break a bunch of shitty expensive plastic parts pulling the engine. I'm very dubious about these sorts of things because it might well temporarily cure your head gasket issue for a few years, but then if you do want to do a proper repair on it you probably just ruined the radiator, hoses, heater core and covered the coolant passages in the block with shit so your going to get more issues anyway. I'd only try it to save a worthless vehicle from the scrapyard for a few years.

I fail to see how this works. did you drain water from expansion tank first? Your treatment was not actually put into the cooling system only the expansion tank. To me most of the magic fluid will still be in tank and not circulating around head and block etc. Totally different scenario if a radiator cap was removed and all contents of bottle poured straight in.

Ive used this product many times too good effect, engines with liners can be a problem and also some long life antifreeze check technical information, I did a 3.1trooper with water gushing out the radiator and went on to use it for 50000 miles towing with no issues, all so on a Pajero 2.5 that did take 200miles to sort out, then used no water for the next two years, good product wouldn't work on a ripped gasket,
