I like the new approach by Khan. If you are not bringing it you are out. To many years we have kept very average to below average players just to have a starter. Agian I like this

@chasestrickland3065 they feel as a organization there QB is in the locker room. I'm not saying Kenny is not a really good QB yet. He has played under the worst OC I have ever seen , only has a season and a half in the league and with a below average OL during that time. I'll wait to see how he develops under better circumstances

I liked Mason because compared to Kendrick Green he was really good but compared to the rest of the league he was an average at best center so I’m finally ready to have great center play

They will definitely sign a free agent. The Steelers never go into the draft having their hands forced. They always pick up players of need right before the draft so other teams Don’t know which way we’re going. they can draft best player available.

If we draft a center and it isn’t JPJ…it would be par for the course over the last 5-10 years offensive line wise. JPJ has next Steelers HOF center written all over him. Big facts!

I think Seattle takes him before us, if not the Rams just released their Center yesterday… We’d have to move up like last year to get him, IMO…

Cole was not great at Center but he was fairly stable, but he was a good though reliable and a team guy. I am surprised they didn’t keep him since he has a lot of experience at Guard and could have been a good back up. Best of luck to Cole .

What about the talk that James Daniels is a better center than he is a guard? He played center for the Bears for a few games and moved from there due to injuries at the guard position. That would give you flexibility to fill either position with the best available.

That possibilty moves Graham Barton up the list as a potential 1st round pick for the Steelers imo due to his positional flexiblity... he can play all 5 positions along the line.

i think this all but guarantees Jackson Powers-Johnson as the team's first round draft pick if there in the first. I believe Daniel Jeremiah mocked Frazier in the first as an IOL in his latest mock to the Lions at their pick in the late first round. Idk if that actually happens but that says that there is already buzz about him too. Id look for a QB like Rattler in the 3rd if available so they are all in but not totally all in on Pickett starting the 2024 season...

QB Jordan Travis Florida State or QB Spencer Rattler should be picked with 1 of the 4th round picks ironically one of them might be future QB

I watched more tape Jackson Powers Johnson WOW....I do think he will be there at 20 and then CB second round plus FA don't need to sign Center FA how many centers toy want its 1 position Have Herbig G-C Daniel's G-C and Spencer Anderson they will wait till draft and take Powers-Johnson on first round or Zack Frazier on second round

Very interesting to me they made the cut before the draft. I understand the move to make cap space, but it does make it more obvious to other teams that we will need a center somewhat early. They must be making room to make some kind of bigger signing if they needed the $4M rn

Yay it is about freaking time how many years are they going to make us fans have to deal with absolute ineptitude at the center position it’s disgraceful the organization that had the likes of Dawson Pouncy should recognize excellence over failure

I believe that the best course of action would be very quietly decide that James Daniels is the starting center and in the unlikely event that the CB from Toledo is available at #20 do not hesitate to GRAB him immediately and then let the front office proceed as they see fit. That kid is a difference maker much quicker than a rookie center would-be and would be a much better value over the long haul as an elite CB.

Good. I was worried they were gonna decide that he was “good enough” for one more year. He clearly wasn’t. I’d spend a high draft pick if there was great center available when we pick.

Cole is a back-up G who the Steelers signed and put into their starting line-up as the C ...... what's wrong with this team. Now get rid of Peterson, dont re-sign Wallace and get Moore Jr. out of LT. Sign some nice FA's to replace them and draft O-lineman.

I'm warry of the guy from Oregon due to a recent history of Oregon 'bigs' failing in the NFL. Oregon plays an arena football offense, I'd like to see OL from other schools get drafted by the Steelers.

As soon as Pounce is inducted into HOF that will be 3HOF centers in my lifetime as a Steelers fan , very impressive I think. It's time to go get number 4. I was thinking they may try and resign Cole under a cheaper deal as a depth piece , if he doesn't sugn elsewhere

Pouncey is never making the HoF. He routinely got manhandled in run blocking. He was only good in pass protection and that's it

I have the complete opposite take. They didn't save a ton by cutting Cole, 3.5 mil. Which they would need to spend anyway to sign a Vet to get through the Rookies intro to the NFL. If you think you are committing to drafting a guy to take the time by mid-season, this move made no sense. Any new bridge C would need to e himself to acclimate and would just throw two changes into the mix next year... They are going after a top C in FA. They are the cheapest OL position and wouldn't require another starter Capable vet to be signed.

I thought we were pretty solid with Holcomb and Alexander before they got hurt although I don’t know how much more time Alexander has. Mason Cole had a pretty bad year at center though from what I saw.

@@byronnelson7580 we have gone that route by drafting that same position in the 3rd round. We have a good chance to choose the center position in the first round. Lets face it kendrick green sucked and i have no clue why we selected him at all in the first place.
