as someone who has been watching Russ since the day he was drafted in 2012, you guy's dont understand how good this is going to feel, a REAL franchise QB for the first time since Ben left, (and yes Russ has plenty ball left in him I watched him multiple times in person last season)

if im being honest, as a hawks fan he saved us. we were coming off 2 straight 7-9 seasons with pete until Russ came and we never had a year worse than 10 wins.. truly changed out franchise which is why I will always root for Russ and whatever team he's on, hawks fan at heart but steelers fan now !@@Steezysteven

@@bestoflife4395sean payton won a super bowl with the saints. but payton isn’t tomlin. whatever needs to be done to get a winning season and probably make the playoffs tomlin will find a way to get it. he NEEDS to win. payton just wants a coaching gig it feels like and he doesn’t have a “culture” that follows him like tomlin and the steelers org. i think russ thrives in a culture. that’s how pete carroll did it. that’s how tomlin does it.

One final thing to pass along to Steeler Nation as a Seahawks and Russell fan. Neither the media nor fans will ever need to pound on Wilson for a bad performance because they think he might need motivation. I promise you that if Wilson shits the bed on an occasion (and let's face it...even hall of famers have bad games) he will beat the living shit out of himself more than any media or fan ever will, probably too much to his detriment. He will live and die with the performance of the team. Give the man a boost in a down-turn rather than a beatdown. I promise you that if he doesn't perform to our expectations it will not be for lack of effort or caring or love or loyalty. That's why you will have many Wilson fans jump on board the Steeler train because it is hard to fault a person who gives it everything he's got even it he misses the mark and his fans know it.

I’m a Steelers fan through and through. Since the late 90’s. I played pee wee football for The Bank of Commerce Steelers in south central Rawlins Wyoming. I became a fan of the black n gold ever since. No reason other than we were the Steelers. I now have a dedicated room for that same team to this day! I have seen many losses, and 2 Super Bowls! I’m grateful for that. It’s more than a lot of fans get with their teams. I have high hopes this year. They might not come to fruition, but it will be a journey I’m imbedded into. #HereWeGo

Let’s gooo Russell. Being from WA, & being a Steelers fan, with the rivalry after the Super Bowl against the Seahawks it was always Steelers vs Hawks. Hated the hawks. But when Russell Wilson joined there was something that drew me to him. Maybe because he showed how strong his Faith was with God, or how compassionate he was that he went and supported the Seattle children hospital that really touched my heart. But so glad to have him on the Steelers. I’m for sure buying my kids and I gear!!!

I am very happy for Russell Wilson to finally be on a contender and Steelers fans to finally have a good quarterback. The Broncos GM has hurt the club since it was not necessary to give up so much to get him. Then, they didn't have the surrounding pieces to make him shine. A lot of dropped balls by wide receivers and no reliable and strong defense.

I'm so fu*kin pumped for football season this year. Finally steelers are making moves to win! I'm pumped for Russ for arty Smith fields...everybody still have the best safety and best pass rusher too and finally a beast in Patrick queen....lfg

Hackett wanted Rodgers year one then he went back to GB they panicked and went all in on Russ so they definitely weren’t on same page & he played fine under Payton but he thinks he can turn anyone into Drew Brees so yeah think this is just all around better for Russ & team built for him and truely wants him

As a Hawks fan who has watched virtually every game Russ played as a Seahawk, I will say Steeler fans should be excited. I think it's funny how commentators that said Russ was washed out last season are going on about how this is a match made in heaven. He was never washed, it was a bad match in Denver with expectations as big as his contract. Thing is he should've never have been expected to carry the team, no QB should. Fact is, the dudes a smart, tough (just look at his consecutive starts record) with a fire to compete. I think this is a next phase for a really good player.

My top 5 favorite QBs I seen play of all time 5 cam newton 4 lamar jackson 3 Patrick mahomes 2 Russell Wilson 1 Big Ben roethlisberger The fact that we have Russ is insane to me sad that Pickett was traded but hopefully Russ has got a bit left in the tank for Pittsburgh

I like this Wilson/fields combo. A good veteran to help teach the young future back is the way to do it and is what they should have done with rothlisburgers last few years
