That's how I feel too, but the show would rather lie and blame Nina leaving for not doing their JOB and providing intelligent well developed stories. The issues with the show were in place LONG before Nina left, so the BS about another ending being in the works but "Nina left" and therefore screwed any other possible ending for the characters and the show is complete crap. It just pisses me off because there will never be another onscreen pair as magical like Stefan & Elena. Paul & Nina have the most incredible chemistry.

adoreselena yup and Damon was an ass. He murdered so many innocent people. While Stefan was the sweet kind soul trying to always save anyone. The way he loved Elena was genuine, innocent and romantic. Their love was epic. The storyline was ruined and I gave up after season 4.

I gave up after Season 4 too. When she started falling in love totally with Damon. The show died when Elena died on that bridge. And did you guys know that in the original ending kn the books Stelena was endgame. But I don't know what forced them to make ANOTHER trilogy end which made Delena endgame. It was like the show influenced the books.

wanderlust i think what amazes me about damon and the writers or dare I say julie and Caroline (the self proclaimed nian/delena lovers) is how damon always wanted elena. He always tried to get or should i say "win the girl" as if she was only competition to him and stefan. The thing about about elena and damon is elena had to die, do a personality change, sire bond to be just compatible with damon. Most of the de scenes we have been given have been the most unnecessary dramatic scenes. De is and only has been get together, break up, speech, sex and kept that cycle for three seasons. They never fully actually talk about their relationship and also without the scene or scenes being shoved down our throats ever single episode and being heavily forced. With stelena, as stefan said it best "its the simple moments, the ones that matter" and of kind of parallels to the entire foundation of their relationship. Think about it, SE never needed a big over the top moment or grand gesture to prove to each other nor the audience that their love is truly epic. With them, they just have to LOOK at one another and that on its own is what makes the audience hold thier breath and sorry to say is what holds the together show. Once SE broke up, what happened? The viewership went down DRAMATICALLY. The show went to only revolving around de and no one. They said screw the plot and character development of the others. Tvd became a shit show. The only reason peple love de is because of nina and ians real life relationship. The show became "the delena diaries" and in the end one couple that the cw saw an increase with is what destroyed the show. Letting a fanbase control the outcome of what happens.

wanderlust I agree but also I feel like they had to put delena together because they had to give them a chance because although I prefer stelena delena had chemistry too but after season 4 it was being forced so much and if u watched the last episode Stefan and Elena still had way more chemistry than Damon and Elena

After watching that scene, since that moment I started hating Elena's character. Previously she was the only one( human Elena) who cried and told Stefan that she never wants to be a vampire and for Elena's sake Stefan did everything in his power so that elena never has to become one but when eventually she became one she so terribly blamed Stefan that he sees her as someone who needs to be fixed and so brutally told Rebekah that she doesn't love him anymore. I was really disgusted by the sudden big change in her character. Human Elena was so kind and pure but later her character was ruined

OMG I WAS SO TRIGGERED ABOUT HARRY AND GINNY BEING ENDGAME- like I didn't mind Ron and Hermione together it was kinda cute and I LOVED Harry and Hermiones friendship I thought it was beautiful how they trusted each other at the end of the books and how they were so close- I thought it should stay a friendship cause not many books have that type of bff relationship between the main boy and girl. But I think HarryxGinny was just a grasping at straws and Rowling trying to find a Harry a love interest other than Hermione- I think i'll be forever salty about Harry and Ginny lmao

If you look at the whole plot of the vampire diaries... it was solely to make Damon get the things Stefan always wanted. A life with Elena.... being human..... having children. His character development was practically becoming Stefan. It’s obvious that Julie had a favorite character and that was Damon. He was the only one that got his happy ending.
