I agree except one thing, yes he died for love twice. But the 2nd one wasn't for Elena. It was for Damon. And that brotherly love, that's what will always matter the most imo.

Neither did stefan love elena more than caroline. While if it came to damon,the brothers would always choose to save each other,sacrificing their lives with their partners..i mean both stef and damon did that,one came back,the other didnt!

i’m the opposite, the legit entire reason i watched the show was because of delena. i stopped watching it when nina left the show thus damon and elena not being together. i know they eventually end up together though but it’s not til like the last episode

Alaya Scott me too, hand they were together I used to watch the show every single day but then when they stopped being together I kinda stopped watching the show, like I only watched it Once a week and some times it was 1 a month and then I just stopped. But I wish stelena was still there😫💖

Liv D I feel that people throw around the word soulmates like it means something. And I also feel like people use the word because they think that nothing can compete with the word. Stefan and Elena were not soulmates because what even is a soulmate. Stelena were an epic love. But Delena were true loves. Because they met and they fell in love just because. Stefan saved Elena, she was this orphan who was writing in the graveyard thinking that nothing would ever be alright again then she meets this guy who gives her a purpose again. And the same for Stefan, the first words that we hear from Stefan are the first words in the series are "For over a century I have lived in secret hiding in the shadows alone in the world until now" Elena gave Stefan a purpose too. Elena saved Stefan too. Now I'm not saying that that is the reason they fell in love. But I don't think that love is about you saved me from life so I love you. You know what I mean? I'm not explaining it properly. I think that love is I love you because. You know what I mean? And now onto the happier thing, I do truly believe that she was happier with Damon, she was happier with the her that she was, she was happier with Damon because she could be herself and not the worst version just herself the she she always wanted to be and vice versa he could be the Damon he always wanted to be when he was with Elena. Stefan says I don't want her to be this person, Damon wouldn't have said that Damon would have embraced the person that she is, and guide her and love her anyway she is.

Damon was more selfish when he was with Elena and Elena I’m sorry I don’t think he made her be who she always wanted to be she even States to Stefan n season 4 that being a vampire changed her not n a good way but that in a way Stefan couldn’t accept I believe Stefan could have grown to love Elena as a vampire she never gave him the chance because Damon was always n the way and I’m sorry but true love is t built on all the crazy selfish crap Elena and Damon did just to be together. stefan was the love of elena life and vice versa... but it died the day elena died. the universe (authors) tried forcing them together and it only pulled them apart destroying the connection that otherwise would of thrived and survived any hardships... man stelena is what made tvd great.

With Matt and Elena they were childhood friends and they owed it to themselves if they could be something more and it as Elena said "it wasn't passionate" describing her relationship with Matt to Stefan. SC relationship is the same. They were friends but decided to see if it could be more. Stefan said to Caroline "what if this is more than a epic love" or something along those lines". Now with the show over, what did we get from SC. a copy and paste, rushed proposal. Stefan saying to Caroline THREE times he didn't want to marry her. Stefan chose his last and final goodbye to be with Elena not his wife. Both Julie Kevin and Paul stated that Caroline was stefans second choice. Nina leaving is what made the writers go with SC. They also stated that if they had Nina for season 7 or a full season 8 they would have gone back with SE and made them endgame. Caroline and Damon will ALWAYS be second choices. I love Stefan but I would have wanted Stefan to be with someone else who he didn't know. Love the video as well

iMrHoDizC They had two chances to put SE back together years before Nina left...The writers/producers knew Nina only had a 6 yr contract...Her leaving is not news the cast has come out to confirm it. 1. When Damon died 2. When Elena compelled her love for Damon away and only left with the bad memories/good memories of Stefan. If they could put SE together by the 2nd ep of first season they surely could have done it in S6 but they didn't...They chose to go with the alternative which was Liam and had Elena fall for Damon all over again....The writers had no intention on making SE endgame....They're only saying this now to avoid backlash from SE shippers who clearly haven't paid attention to the show or it's direction past S3. Nearly everyone knows DE was the original endgame and that's what the writers have been going towards since S4 when Elena asked Damon to take the cure with her ie die old together,be together this doesn't have to be hard anymore...She has NEVER said such a thing to Stefan so Damon being second choice was/is also false...For EACH season finale it ended with a DE scene...Stefan was the third wheel. For example 1x22 (Damon kisses Katherine while thinking it's Elena) 2x22 (Elena kisses a dying Damon) 3x22 (The audience finds out Damon MET Elena first but compelled her to forget...We also see how much Elena's choice effected her...She was terribly upset and not being honest with herself...Her goodbye towards Damon was more emphasized then the supposed reunion she had with Stefan and he was the one she "chose" for the time being....In that very scene the audience also sees Elena tell Damon that she's no longer sure about "always" with Stefan only "right now" more proof that DE was going to happen later on down the line. 4x23 Elena chooses Damon and is not sorry for it...5x22 Damon decides to go on a suicide mission/Elena decides to go with him which pretty much shows if Damon dies...Elena wants to die with him....Earlier in the episode we saw Elena confirm that she only sees her future with Damon...Damon actually had a future with Elena when he went on a mission to bring his brother back from the other side...He had something to look forward too...Unfortunately he did not make it back in time and Elena practically loses it...Using witch herbs to hallucinate his very existence because there was NO world for her without a Damon in it. 6x22 Elena is put under a sleeping beauty spell but still shows she is still in love with Damon and knows Damon will wait for her/The two share a passionate yet bittersweet dance. 7x22 Damon goes into a vault in order to save Bonnie/He thinks he hears Elena and the audience is swooped in with an epic montage of passionate DE moments throughout the years. 8x16 is where it all comes back full circle....We see Elena in the graveyard writing in her diary (just as she was in the Pilot 1x01) only this time she is no longer the sad, teen girl who lost her parents...She is a successful doctor/Happily married to the man Bonnie once described in the Pilot she quotes "When I touched you I saw a crow, there was fog, a man, this is just the beginning". Which pretty much just confirms that Damon was always Elena's future. And it's funny you say Steroline was like Elena/Matt's relationship...When Stefan and Elena were just like Elena/Matt...They lacked passion.....Which is why Elena was always searching for something more...And she found it with Damon....She even thanks him for giving her everything she always wanted...Stefan didn't which is why they broke up lol

Anyway, I have to agree Delena was meant to be all this time, when there was only 3 seasons of this show I already knew Delena was going to be, I could see it miles away, and it turned out to be true. Those kind of things happen for a reason, to lead the characters to something. Maybe they wouldn't end up together, maybe they would have, but we already know how it ended. Even if Delena wasn't going to be endgame before Nina left, Delena was going to exist. Hell if Nina hadn't left, I don't even think Elena would choose one of them, I think she would end up being in love with both and at the same being with no one because of that. Just saying.

@@Allbutnowhere see the thing is that, whatever u said are assumptions, i believe steroline is epic, and their writting could have been way better..s6 was epic, it gave us a bunch of reasons to ship steroline, showed us how caroline changed stefan's idea of true love, from love at first sight to a slowburn. He was hella confused cuz he had never known a slowburn before, also it felt nowhere close to the 'true love' that he had with elena, but guess what he did figure it out and in liz's funeral he realised that what he felt for caroline was way different and actually better than what he felt with elena! Its a feeling, i cant judge feelings! When it comes to caroline, she has been stefan's greatest admirer. She valued his true love for elena, his kind heart and just HIM, something that elena couldn't do cuz she was busy with damon! In s6 it looked forced bcuz u know the writters fcked up! Steroline could have easily begun in s4 or 5 with stefan's best friend helping him cope with his breakup by telling him that he was an amazing person and his love for elena and his contribution into stelena was more than enough. In the process both could have come closer to each other, and as damon said in a deleted scene, in the absence of a blinder named elena Gilbert, stefan would have realised that caroline is an amazing woman too, a ball of happiness and optimism, the one who always cares for everybody, more than she is given credit for. They would have discovered their mutual sexual tension and would have acted on it, finally falling for each other cuz stef and care are just great characters, it doesnot take a lot to fall for them! Needless to mention they actually cared for each other and had that opposite kinda energy, gloom doom+optimism. Now think about it, thats what happend in s6, but it was a bit too late, cuz their friendship had taken hold of us, it was weird to see it transform into love so quickly with liz's death and the whole without humanity stuff! Their story should have begun with doubts and solidified as they went further and further ! But ut they pushed the love triangle and therefore ignored steroline until nina left and they were left with nothing but steroline..they ruined the best chance bcoz believed in popular ships to run the show and not their own writting! I have read many fanfics and all of them have given me more satisfaction than the shitty writting on the show!
