Stelena were always meant to be - Elena made Stefan better, she made him happy. And he always did the same for her - he made her a better, more compassionate, more accepting, and stronger person, just as she did him. Do you remember how he wept when he thought she was dead in 7x12? That's love - they were epic and I still can't bring myself to accept that the writers didn't make these two endgame. As for Delena, Elena most certainly made Damon a better person but I feel like he brought out the worst in her. Their relationship was more about him than about them. The only thing I'm glad for was that Delena returned Damon to Stefan but apart from that, it should've ended by the end of season 5. This guy killed her goddamn brother out of spite, for goodness' sake. Him turning human for her honestly didn't seem realistic to me: Damon was such a hedonist; he loved being a vampire. He said it himself on countless occasions that a short, mortal existence would not do him. I wish Nina had returned for season 8 - the writers should've made Stelena happen. Klaus put it perfectly, "Love like that never dies." Stefan deserved better. Stelena deserved better. Caroline also deserved better. Klaroline and Stelena would've made for ideal endgame, they should've let Damon sacrifice himself; that to me, would've been a 10x more satisfying ending in showing how Elena had not just been the love of Stefan's life but also returned Damon to Stefan as the selfless brother he was meant to be.

Stefan vs Damon: Damon thought he killed Elena, then had sex with another woman, instead of killing the problem. He was in pain and was like- ok julian kill me. Stefan wasn't even dating Elena, he cried for her and killed Julian. (the problem) that's the difference between the two.

Stefan, who has the purest heart out of any character I've seen on any show, he might have dark times, (ripper times) but he's not that person in his dark times, he's not his real self because Stefan is GOOD ! even without Elena he IS good, Elena inspired him to have hope, to hold on, to fight, to feel, she made him happy, she made him feel human again ! This is the last season of The Shitshow Diaries(S04-S08). But the real TVD(S01-S03) will always be in my heart. TVD was the first tv-series I watched. I know that Elena ends up with Damon, which was obviously one of the worst choices she has ever made. My friend spoiled the show for me and told me that Damon and Elena start dating later on (she is also a big stelena fan) and now watching the show, I cry every time Stefan has a chance to tell Elena how much he loves her or if he misses a chance to just simply run up to her and kiss her right there and then, I cry my eyes out because I know that these little moments are what was the ending of stelena. I'm pretty sure all Stelena fans (including myself) would love to believe that Stefan cried because he'd miss Elena. My older sister and I had a disagreement about this very subject. (she's a Delena fan) I do believe Stefan cried because Elena died. I can prove such because on episode 22 of the 6th season, Stefan indeed cried during he and Elena's goodbye because he'd miss her. Elena, no matter who he falls in love with, will hold a special place in his heart. She had a huge impact on his life. Although, elena ended up choosing Damon Stefan loved her more than anyone he had ever loved including Caroline. in my own opinion i feel like the relationship between Caroline was forced on Stefan’s side by making himself move on. in the end i believe Stefan would’ve chose to sacrifice his life even if Damon wasn’t in danger and it was just Elena.

I always shipped Stelena. This episode made me upset. I hid in my room for seven hours. But she will come back. Damon didn't really kill her. She is a fu**ing vampire. She gets married to Stefan and they have two kids.

Ohhh, it is so touching, painful and heartbreaking. I don't watch TVD anymore but...

see, the way I think things are, Stefan would never stop loving Elena. as Klaus said before, that kind of love never dies. and as much as Delena shippers would argue about how she made Damon a better person and he challenged and surprised her, you also have to realize that Stefan wasn't holding Elena back form being herself, he just brought out the best parts of her, making her more compassionate, more accepting, and it made her see the good in Damon when everyone thought all hope was lost. If she wasn't with Stefan, she wouldn't even look twice at Damon and would have decided he is dangerous and she'll hate him. And though everything, the two people who cared about each other the most were Stefan and Elena. She was the only one that could bring stef back, and when she turned her humanity back on, he was there for her, understanding what she is going through and helping her in ways Damon couldn't. overall, stefan was the one she loved most, which is known to be a fact because of two things; 1, the summer he was with klaus, she didn't live her life at all, just let time pass by and just focused on one thing, to "save" stefan, bring him back home but most importantly, she needed to know he was alive because she couldn't live without him. Some might say the same thing happened with damon, and i agree, but elena never NEEDED damon. ok, yes, they loved each other very much, but at the time of her life where she needed someone the most, the time where everything was numb after her parents died, stefan was there, and helped her through the greif without her even knowing it. he was the light in her darkness, the person who found her in her deepest and lowest point and brought her back. Now, for Stefan loving elena the most, stefan barely cries, and the few times he did, it was either because she "died" and he couldn't save her, a little more on other times, but mainly that time. and then he hears that elena dies because damon killed her, burned her, and he cried. But yes, he does love caroline, but like he was there for her in her darkest times, so was she, and that kind of love never dies.
