I memorized this game a while ago but there were several moves by both sides I didn't really get. This is by far the clearest walkthrough I've found. Thank you!

What a game! Thank you very much for bringing this masterpiece today! Your explanation has added so much value to the video. It's interesting, after a few years trying to improve my understanding of chess, I think I finally got to the point in which I can appreciate the power of positional ideas like pawn sac showcased in this game. Suddenly I watch analysis like this one and get amazed by the ideas, which makes it a lot easier to memorize the whole thing. A real pleasure.

Fantastic!! The moment you can grasp the battle of ideas going on in chess, the whole art of the game is open to you!

Bardeleben was known for quitting tournaments when losing😄 he was quite a good player and had a pleasant tournament up to this game while Steinitz had a bad start before getting that brilliany price! I reviewed this game literally when i started chess, and the beauty of the combination kept me playing.

I still remember how impressed I was 60 years ago. Please pronounce "Curt" like "Coort". Today poor von Bardeleben is only remembered for this game.

The famous "scandal" was invented by Soltis.

This doesn't clearly state whether Coort explained his behavior before leaving or thereafter. This version does not seem very far from the "scandal" version; it could very well be a pretext or excuse for the behavior of a poor loser.

David, can you analyze Capa's masterpiece when he takes apart Frank Marshall in the Marshall Gambit?

I could, but I have another 20+ games already on my list that I like better :P I'm sorry to disappoint, but I think the videos are much better if I go for the stuff that gets me really excited.
