The end game crisis can start any time after 50 years have passed after the end game year has been reached, so It is normally a bit after 50 so It isn't guaranteed to actually spawn in that early all the time! e.g. In the last attempt It was set to 2350 and It spawned at around 2415.

25 used to be the hard cap on planet size due to the tile system. Now they just don't spawn larger than 25, but they can be made through events.

Well i am impressed... I would have lost my mind micro-managing an empire of half that size for half as long. I generally turtle into high-end tech and try to claim choke points. I'd be curious about your next play through and how you balance the wide/tall aspect if you do go materialist. Hope you get feeling better!

You have to be the best player at this game at this point. The only way to possibly make this harder is to make an intentionally terrible empire and force every empire to be a determined exterminator with advanced starts

For future note: PUT ALL YOUR PURGING POPS ON THE GAS WORLD this makes a CRAP LOAD Of gas jobs and will push your gas production through the roof. Worst comes to worse, you can sell it all. ALways do this with the portal research site.

I did the same thing of moving all pops to a single planet with a determined exterminator empire I had 1500 pops, making 9000 energy a month

Watching Latherix own the entire galaxy in 175 years then snowball in tech and fleet power is terrifying. Also seeing 3.5k undesirables in the homeworld being slowly purged definitely adds to the nightmare fuel. 45:00 A little tip for having undesirables in one planet: when you activate deal with crime lords, you can have as much crime in the world without worrying about a criminal underworld or an uprising as long as you keep amenities up and your normal pops happy. Cheers! ;)
