DJ (Columbus Short), an amazing underground street dancer, hasn't been in college for a day before he's entranced by a lovely co-ed, April (Meagan Good). Working as a gardener to pay the bills, DJ doesn't fit in with the wealthier students around campus, but one thing does catch his attention -- the rival fraternity competitions known as "stepping." With April's help, DJ learns about the legacy and heritage behind the fraternities and decides to join up. Now part of an official step group, DJ must balance rehearsals, work, and school, while at the same time winning the heart of the girl of his dreams. With the National Step Championship drawing closer, DJ must learn to stop dancing as an individual, and to start stepping as part of a team.

@@gabriellee2521 Grant knew she was slipping away from him though. That's why he was hating so much, and trying to be fake about recruiting him. I imagine if DJ joined them Grant would have likely looked to set him up to get him kicked out some how.

@@dagameplayerGrant wouldn't have gotten him kicked out even if he tried. DJ visited the deans office remember? By his application them finding out about his charge is what got him kicked out. April's dad got it overturned and allowed DJ back to school. Grant wanted DJ on their squad because he was embarrassed by getting clowned on at the club lol.

The big difference between these movies, is that battles in You Got Served are actually like that and sometimes even more lit in real ife, whereas in Stomp The Yard, you'll only ever see this level of dancing/stomping and competition in movies. Real life it feels more amature

Sadly, there wasn’t enough research done on real Probates and how pledges are revealed. It could have been more realistic both with that and the actual stepping. I’m sure the frats wouldn’t have a problem with it.
