Steph Curry Finally Did It

Күн бұрынSteph Curry is having a special NBA Finals, putting the Golden State Warriors on his back in an effort to take down the Boston Celtics to secure an NBA title.
Steph has been completely unstoppable in the Finals, and he's the reason the Warriors are still in this series. With Klay Thompson and Draymond Green having their fair share of struggles, Curry has been putting Golden State on his back and keeping them in it.
With how he's been playing against the Celtics, we have to start asking some serious questions about where Steph Curry ranks from an All Time perspective. At this points, it's hard to deny that he sits in the upper echelon of all time NBA legends.

If someone says that Curry benefits from GS system, then they should never talk basketball again. Curry IS the system.

no, he isn't the system. but he is the main wheel and offensive motor by far, along with Draymond and back in the day Iguodala. The rest of the guys play their role as defenders and scorers and make great reads but Steph and Dray are the offensive motors for sure. they play motion though most of the time, so no, Steph isn't the system, team play and read and react is the system, and it's an unstoppable offense when you reach this level of perfection. Spurs and 02 Kings and great examples of this.

@@mcfuckinanotheraccount808 the system doesn't work (doesn't ultimately translate to winning) without him. Kerr wasn't being PC when he said so himself multiple times recently.

@@mullz.m i absolutely agree that he is the main key and the only fundamental one (although when they're without draymond you also notice a big difference how the team plays, he makes things easier for Steph), but again, no single player "IS" the system. you don't win alone in basketball. but hey this is just my mentality

@@mcfuckinanotheraccount808 Oh no, nobody is winning alone vs 5 NBA players. If you agree he is the main cog (only fundamental piece), then we're on the same page. Steph being the system (enabling the system) =/= Steph is winning alone.

opposing teams never seem to learn the most obvious lesson about defending curry. trying to force curry to beat you by himself doesn’t work the same way you can try to shut down other heliocentric offenses like the mavericks or like the bucks, because curry is an all time great endurance athlete. trying to tire curry out is an exercise in futility because he will continue to run circles around you despite playing 40+ minutes.

I agree, he is really unstoppable but we have to say also that Celtics choose to drop on PnR and not trap him and they can blame their offense when they lose not really their defense imo

The backcourt tried to force 3s at the end of game 3 to keep up, but GS had been making unforced errors all game so if they kept looking for better shots and maybe had some off ball movement they coulda had a chance

Yes it really bothers me when people say it’s against one of the best defenses ever without acknowledging how Boston isn’t double teaming and trapping him as aggressively as pretty much every team has for years so of course his scoring has gone way up
