If Embiid was healthy they would’ve beaten them, but unfortunately he was really banged up. His rebounding wasn’t anywhere close to full capacity and that really hurt them neither was his defense or rim protection. He also couldn’t make shots for half the series that he almost always makes. Tobias also really hurt them in this series. If we had better pieces for his salary or a better piece they also wouldn’t have lost. That said Knicks didn’t have Randle either but they almost play better without him anyways 😂

As a fan, this year I'm not blaming Embiid. His effort is not in question. He was amazing in that game and exceeded expectations when you consider his health. Maxey was not having a good game and he was too focused on getting calls, Nick Nurse had idiotic lineups out there in big time moments, Tobias Harris is not a threat and did absolutely nothing in 29min of play. The team in general is too focused on out-talenting other teams instead of having an actual offense with schemes and counters. The defense only ever peaks in desperation situations instead of staying tough and consistent throughout. Should've never got rid of Matisse, we need to remove Tobias Harris from the team, sign more athletic players that can rebound and defend, and stop making so many excuses. Stop relying on the refs to win you the game

Maxey gets plenty of chances, they both can and have scored big. Both get shots in the clutch. They're building well with their two stars. Its like Jokic and Murray. It is asinine to suggest Maxey be the face of the franchise. He can't consistently create offense for himself or others in the half court. He needs to learn how to change speeds instead of always going 100 mph. His whole offense is shoot a 3 off a screen or go 100 mph at the basket, without seeing how the play is developing, often leading to a highly contested shot, or block. After blowing past his defender he should scan the court for soft spots to drift into and shoot middys or floaters. Embiid tends to disappear at times. Part of it is the sixers don't run enough sets to get him the ball in his best spots, the mid and low block. This leads to him drifting away from the basket, where he can be guarded by smaller guys. An example of this is game 6 when Embiid had Josh Hart fronting him. Instead of running a set to feed him like Purdue does to Edey, they try to lob him the ball and Hart tips it. The other part is Embiid not having the mentality to punish people on the block. When he does, he is dominant.

@@mataeodurant that's part of the problem. He's always hurt. I don't care if you're Michael Jordan if you're always hurt come playoff time. He can't win, and will only get worse. As for Tobias Harris, absolutely a problem, get rid of him. Still embiid will not win a championship as the number 1

Embiid is like Kawhi, truly one of the most talented 2 way players in the league.. but never healthy. Well atleast Kawhi has 2 rings. Embiid aside from being constantly injured, just doesn't have the stamina to play in the post season. Dude plays in the early rounds like he's already gone through 4 straight game 7s

Agree, we build around Maxey. We would have to get another superstar center imo. 1 : we get another center cuz of embiid durability. 2 : we get 2 great centers to rebound/score at will. An athletic 3 and D wing. A catch and shoot guard. Then our bench definitely needs some energy and competitiveness. They need to bring the momentum up in our favor. We need more than 20+ 8:30 pts from them please….

Embiid/Maxey is one of the best duos in the NBA but there wasn’t another player on the Sixers this year that deserves to be a playoff Starter. They need to sign 3 new Starters this offseason and build around both Maxey and Embiid.

Building around Maxey means get Joel a real backup that can still play the 5 when Jo is on the floor. He can rest as a 4 and get back on defense while still being the primary 5.

It's about his number too. The number 0 is the most popular jersey number in sports! Gilbert/ Hibachi/ Agent 0 made it a cool number! 21 is an ok number but even early 2000s KG and TD never sole more jerseys than Gilbert, they were all with Adidas as well! The go-to number back then was either 1 or 3! Now the most popular number is 0! Has nothing to do with who the fans like more!

Maxey and Embiid are like Edwards and KAT. Embiid is very important, but injuries are there, so keep him(!) but let Maxey grow to be a leader, same what happened with Edwards and KAT this year. KAT accepted to be the number 2 player in the team when he is healthy and Edwards confidence grew to the point when he is the leader now!

The Sixers led by Maxey would not have been a play-in team had the team had even a halfway decent back-up big. Paul Reed and Bamba were borderline trash in terms of a post presence. I agree with SAS. Give Maxey a 3 and D wing (Mikal Bridges) and a post-presence (Bam Adebayo) type and this team could roll. Joel is a great player but he gets hurt a lot. Let the team build around Maxey and anything you can get from Joel is just gravy.

It all depends on Embiid'ss ego if he's willing to differ to Maxey as "the guy" but if he's able to then greater things will happen for the 76ers. There is some ppl who feel Embiid needs to get in shape just saying and if that's the case then that's another issue.

The only scenario I can see Embiid out is dependant on his health long-term... it feels like his greatness is always stumped by injury every year and with the East as open as it is Philly needs to prioritize winning now and get what they can from Joel while his value is high.
