Hankcock Colbert looked like he was out of his debt in that interview, you can clearly see his mind working on something funny or smart to say to match conan when he should be fluffing in the awkward silence inbetween lines, like an actual experienced host. You can se colbert doing this in other interviews as well, with Bill Maher and Ricky Gervais for example. Maybe dont talk about things you clearly know nothing about?

+Hussam "The 'Good Enough' gang rides again." is a jab at his writers giving him a desk piece they thought was just "good enough", instead of something they were actually excited/entusiastic about. The tone of Conan's voice that Colbert mentioned indicates that Conan thought the writing was subpar as well lol.

I'll have to check out the podcast as well because it seems like in most interview segments with Conan and Colbert, no matter which one is hosting, Colbert often takes a jab at Conan. I understand they respect each other and are joking, but I feel like Colbert comes off a bit caddy. Usually comedians are more self-deprecating. Whereas Colbert often inserts a personal attack against Conan that seems to lean towards the negative than funny. I could be entirely misinterpreting, but that's how it comes across to me.

They both execute their profession exquisitely and they both possess an fundamental decency about them which imbues them with a certain sense of mission transcending their roles as entertainers.

Stephen was a guest on Conan's podcast once. They said they weren't really friends and that they only came across each other when they did interviews in their respective shows. But it changed when they took a vacation in the same place by accident and ended up hanging out with each other's families during the trip. They said that that is when they truly became friends.
