Honestly, while I get the hype, a RW should be way down the list of priorities this season. I'd much rather rotate between Amad and Garna on the right wing with Antony as a squad option (there's no way anyone is buying him off of us). If we spend 70 mil on Olise, I think our needs in CM, CB and ST just won't be taken care of and we will struggle a lot next season again.

None of them create like Olise though, and he's only getting better. Left-footed with a ceiling showing his right foot work improving. I think we really need him to unlock Hojlund and real set piece threats.

I think it only makes sense if we make decent money off Sancho & Greenwood. If we can make back the fee for Olise through those sales (hopefully a little bit more, though unlikely) then it's decent.

Hamstring strain injuries (HSI) are among the most common injuries in the active population, and are notorious for their high rates of re‐injury. Palace use him sparingly and he comes off after 70 mins in many games. The hamstring injury he picked up playing for France was a serious injury particularly for a footballer. I hope he isn’t another Jack Wilshire

We praise city for having multiple top players in every position, amad or whoever it maybe have to fight for their position and even when they arent first choice they should know how much they'll play, look at how many minutes someone like alvarez gets despite being back up to the best striker in the world, this idea that we have someone good therefore we dont have to sign anyone in their position is literally stupid

I agree with what your saying, but it's also silly to have an abundance of ability in one position without having any talent to fill the defensive midfield role or the CB role. I would much rather get those sorted this window than buy someone who will be competing with Amad for RW. he started 14 premierleague games last season due to injury. That's also something we don't want in the squad.

@@samuelwhitcombe9744 yes but these arent mutually exclusive, keeping two good players in one position has nothing to with other positions, the market is all about availability and maybe olise is more available than LB or CM that we want, so should we miss out on him just because we lack in other positions? We are very very far from having an abundance of ability in any position, in my opinion we should sign any good player we get the opportunity to, we have about 4/5 players who are good enough and even then some of them are injury prone and the others will get burnt out, we need all the quality we can get

I love Olise he definitely fits the kinda profile we're looking for but honestly signing a new RW isn't of a real priority considering the amount of wingers we've already got within our ranks. There's no guarantee that the likes of Sancho, Greenwood etc even get sold. Say a new manager comes in he could yet decide to keep them. We've other top priorities like CB, CDM & ST before any other position. Depends on finances & who we can sell which means we could end up missing out on Olise to Chelsea

I think this signing would be good, but it would be a tough pill for Amad to take after finally getting a shot and performing well. Also, I think garnacho has been better on the right. So if we have Amad and garnacho on the right, we should be looking for a left winger? Again, I agree with others that CB and CDM should be priority over attacking players. Would still welcome Olise with open arms

Olise still has three years on his contract with Palace. They look a great place for a young player to develop. I suspect he will opt to stay for a further season and then move. Palace could be very strong next season the way their squad is developing.

Not sure about his robustness, would we be better off going for Niko Williams who's similar age/ability, but a third cheaper than the prices seen quoted for Oliseh? That'll leave us with more to use elsewhere given the number of players we need in (whether that's 1st choice or squad).

In possesion formation could be 3241(City formation) also deployed by many other teams, Olise can drift in from RW and play more centrally in the right attacking midfield half space with a comfortable attacking right back such as Dalot holding the width in an advanced position. Alternatively, we could utilize him in a 3421 off the right, off the striker where he can again play as right sided attacking midfielder with Dalot holding the width from a wingback position.

By all accounts he has a release clause of 60M - which is a lot. but if you can offload the likes of a sancho, antony, greenwood or all three he'd be a great replacement, with Amad as back up to RW and CAM.

What are we doing? Cus we still need to sell greenwood and Sancho before getting olise in. What are we doing with Anthony and Diallo? Olise definitely starts but we’re stacked with wingers. Priority is 2 CB, 2 CDMs a striker and a LB. I like him but we need to sell to bring him in.

I understand we have a lot of RW options but majority are selfish players. You need an assist master at least in one side of the wing. Our striker is being starved of service. He is a key signing and will be a top signing.

You see the problem with playing Rashford and Garnacho at the same time. They make high risk dribbles and looking for the shot more often than they should, and had terrible accuracy while at it. If you play like that you need a higher conversion rate than what they had this season, because they are terrible defensively. That's a lesser problem with Amad who doesn't give the ball away as often, and when it happens he works hard to regain it.

Defensive mid and centre back are definitely higher priority. Still some people saying mainoo can be a 6…he’s an 8 all day long and needs someone solid behind him. Left back probably too with shaw being so unreliable and who knows when he will go downhill, you can’t be injured this much and have a long career. Get those 3 positions then think about Olise…unless we sell Bruno, sancho etc and have a massive budget. He’s also injury prone, pretty sure he started 14 games 😂

Really like the guy Ste..... however big question mark over his injury/fitness, he's better than what we have but it's how many games can he play per season. Personally I'd like the Portuguese kid neves first, he's dynamic full of energy and tenacious in CM just what we need as priority, also like to see Amad get a chance or run of games.. .any chance Palace would swap Antony big swhankies for him?

The injury record worries me. Not because of Olise himself but because of our own injury crisis - obviously something is wrong with the Utd medical dept! He also plays RW, one of the positions we have the most depth at! Sure Garnacho can go to the left wing and Amad is young, but we are desperate for a CB, DM and 2nd choice ST. And depending on injuries, we probably need a LB too! So yes, hes exciting and interesting, but can we afford him this summer? All this changes ofc if Bruno cant agree terms and wants to be sold. In that case we need a creative replacement and Olise could be that.

Sorry, I don't see Olise as an Ineos priority, before we even consider another RW we need to sort out Greenwood, Sancho and Antony and we already have Amad who looks impressive whenever he gets onto the pitch. They need to concentrate on securing the services of a DCM to replace Casemiro and at least two CBs and when that is sorted we need another central striker as cover for Hoyland.

We cannot waste money on anyone, especially for 50+ which is what most EPL signings will cost us. We need to carefully make signings like Diallo and Martinez. Young for less than 30, no more Antony or Sancho signings. And good character. We need to do our research. If City don't like the price they walk away. When United don't like the price we pay it anyway: Maguire, Sancho, Antony. We need to start being smart

INEOS can't even sort out the manager with no transparent plans for the squad and player agents are currently left in the dark. Showing 0 ambition, focusing more on penny pinching which has Bruno doubting his stay. This is the biggest summer in a decade and they haven't even started getting deals done early because of the manager delays. Meanwhile Chelsea are moving quickly and contacting agents. Reports are some of the key INEOS decision makers are on holiday? Not a great start for INEOS at all. The stadium, the staff, the work from home rules can all wait. Sort out the manager and the squad first as soon as possible, especially in a EUROs year.

Oliseh is better off going to Chelsea who have a system in place for those types of players. The way United play is more suited to the chalk on the boot wide players who use their pace and explosiveness to drive into the box ie Garnacho, Rashford, Nani etc. A current player that would suit United would be Anthony Gordon or someone of the profile of Doku (not saying him)

All this talk about Olise being contacted over defense and DM that needs to be prioritised doesn't bode well to me. The biggest problem has been a lack of stable fit foundation of a defence to build from, and we still trying to convince ourselves that picking another winger will be the way to solve it is not at all correct. We'll again have a disillusioned winger who will be frustrated because he is doing way more defensive work than attacking work or staying in possession because the rest defence is not working.

It all depends on budget doesn't it lads and when you hear reports we have anything between 35 and 250m to spend who bloody knows. For my money I'd say INEOS will focus on youth, seen the links to Neves, Yoro, sesko surfacing so Olise is not far from that thinking. It's down to the readies and FFP 🤷🏼‍♂️
