Sterntube bearing renewal

Күн бұрынThe last vessel i joined was berthed at Durban South Africa. The stern tube bearing was damaged & was being renewed. Luckily I was able to record the work being carried. It is treat for the eyes to the internals of sterntube & the work being carried out by the workshop.

Thks for sharing. Its really hard work. Glad I only work in the machine shop during my apprenticeship days before I was transferred to the commercial dept doing ship repair tenders.

I was a SRM years back.. Doing this renewal in afloat condition is very chalenging.. So many preparations and safety aspects need to be done before..
