I agree with Steve. The songs on this album remind me of the Ace songs on Unmasked, Dynasty and his '78 solo. Talk To Me and Rocket Ride have always been two of my favorite Ace songs and the songs on this album remind me of that era. Fun, energetic, quirky.... Thank You Steve for bringing Ace back to life.

@@MetalHeart8787 Ace always had a tendency to write commercial type songs like "Talk To Me". The pop sound with a rock edge has always been there. I used to always write music with a metal edge but then I realized there's a lot of great melodies out there that don't need to Constantly have that attitude. These musicians are actually human and for the time being that's where this one is at. It's not for everyone and that's ok. I now boil it down too, is it a good song or bad? This album in my opinion is good and even if I didn't like a song at first hearing it, it would be ringing in my head. That's usually a good sign that the song is catchy. I didn't mean to ramble, I wanted to explain how I saw it. I totally understand that some people want it heavier like the first track. Maybe the next project will take care of that.

For better or worse, I want to only hear Ace and his ideas and playing. I appreciate Ace's vocals on this. I can tell he was coached to give his best possible performance! Lastly, it is a great album, so there's that. By the way, I absolutely LOVE the second Tokyo Motor Fist. I played it all last summer pretty much.

I love this record! It’s not your typical Ace record….thank the lord! We have those past records to listen to. 10,000 Volts is different. 10,000 Volts is a triumph that you may not realize until the 3rd or 4th pass through the entire record. There were/are moments during “Back Into My Arms”, or “Fightin’ For Life”, where I just smiled and said , “THEY DID IT!”. Steve and Ace did it….they made a record that is relevant in 2024….that has such great moments on it. I swear some of these tunes could have been on KISS UNMASKED. Specifically, “Constantly Cute”, and “Up In The Sky”. But that’s just me. We’ve never heard Ace sing a song like, “Life of a Stranger”….and it works. I’m a big Trixter fan, and I hear Trixter in certain spots….maybe I hear the writing style of Steve Brown…and again, I dig it! I think to appreciate this music that Ace has released, you need to just listen with a sense of gratitude. I’m grateful that Ace Frehley, at 72 years old….has given us new music.

First off great interview. Steve seems like a great guy. I'll try to be brief I've been an ace fan since 78, so I feel I kind of know a lot about his music... Anomaly was a very good album with good production. Sorry but my ears can't make it through the space invader album, a few good songs but very poor production. Spaceman is the only album I never bought by Ace Frehley, I think the same could be said, poor production and only a couple of good songs... Now we come to 10000 volts, great songs and great production, this is a great Ace Frehley album. Thanks Steve you did a great job working with the ace.. best of luck with the album!!

First off I have loved Ace since 1975 and I am getting a little weary of people being called haters because they don't like everything an artist does. I'm sick to death of hearing Ace say after every release that the new release is better or as good as his '78 solo album. Of course not every song on an album is going to be great or liked by everyone, I am referring to the article that I read with Steve on Blabbermouth. It is true a few of his albums had four or five great songs on each one but others didn't follow that quote. This release has a lot of cool tunes but their three that I think are cookie cutter and trite. The title track is very cool even though the riff is straight out of "My Wave" by Soundgarden but hey that happens frequently in rock and roll. Side one is better than side two; I feel that side two has three misses. Ace's leads on each song are pretty much the same leads that he has been playing for years. I think that Steve Brown should have done something about that. The album production is far too slick and candy coated, Ace will never be able to reproduce the vocals live but when all is said and done the album is what really matters because that is what you'll be listening to from this point forward. There are some really great things going on sonically on this album although the the production as a whole is drenched in the 80's blah. This is pretty much a Steve Brown album and he comes off like a "look at me" sort of person. Mastermind? I wouldn't say so, the album is obviously a digital production, cut and pasted, no warmth to it whatsoever. I have never heard anything else that Steve Brown has done and after reading his interviews about this album I never will and please don't hurt yourself when you jump off your pedestal. Long Live Ace!; you know the guy is 73 and still doing what he loves to do and I admire that. I give it a 6/10 Steve Stars.

That’s where they fucked up on Psycho Circus was supposed to be a reunion album but it wasn’t it was all sessions played by Kevin Valentine drums, Tommy Thayer, Bruce Kulick bass. Steve Brown is not good at interviews. I disagree that Def Leppard had a huge jump from Pyromania to Hysteria. The huge jump was between High n Dry to Pyromania. The job he did with Ace from a mixing/mastering/engineering standpoint is incredible and is the biggest difference in this album and Ace’s previous solo efforts. He deserves credit for that. But he never gives the, “Ace Factor” enough credit. Without Ace, this music isn’t what it is.
