@JAG Covers Toronto fans were terrified to face Boston, they were all chanting "we want Florida ".... Little did they know that they should have been hoping to face the bruins all along, ullmark was injured and swayman was very beatable. If the leafs weren't a comedy of errors they wouldn't be the leafs though!

This is why I can't root for them. It's funny too because Steve later nailed Paul Maurice saying that the Leafs only had 4 since the last one was a double minor, but if we rewind to game 1 against Tampa the SDP consistently said the PPs were 8-4 for Tampa conveniently forgetting that Bunting took a double minor...

Just remember, the Bolts also took game 1 in a landslide. The Bruins took game 1 against the Panthers. The Wild took game 1 against the Stars. In other words, it's still very early.

And the Jets took game one against Vegas. On HF there were myriad posts talking as if these series were over after one bloody game! Just crazy.

Leafs fans are the most annoying in the NHL. The old Leaf fans would have complained the refs were rigging the games (even though you got 4-1 pps!).. now it's like you're amazing bc you fluked one series that you got outplayed. Fact is, you lost at home, handedly. Not to mention, against an 8th-seeded team! I was fine with Leafs winning a series, but after seeing the annoying arrogance of Leafs fans (especially making "hilarious" posts about the Bruins), I've decided I want to see you wait another 50 years or so to win. Learn some humility as a fan base.

Only two teams (CAR, SEA) won the series after winning game one. There's still plenty of time for the Leafs to get into it

This was a good learning game, understanding the type of team Florida is in the playoffs. I honestly think they are better this year due to speed and goaltending rounding back into form. We will adapt.

This is why people hate Leafs fans. The long delay in coming to the double minor penalty benefitted the Leafs, not the Panthers. Matthews and Marner were on a 3 minutes shift. That delay let all the Leafs rest. Yet, Leafs fans find a way to make it another reason the refs are "against" the Leafs.

Tampa wasn’t a missed call they gave the lightning 3 freebie interference calls 4 min before that and had the whistles away hagel embellished too relax, refs didn’t make Tampa blow 3 home games in OT

Steve is the most objective leafs fan the long review of that double minor at the end helped the leafs rest up before the final push and Steve is still complaining about the refs professionalism. Most respect for you Steve no matter what you want the game to be better. ❤

So, how do you approach game 2? If you try to stop Tkachuk he’s just gonna do what he wants to anyway. You gotta maximize you scoring opportunities and you do that with Matthews & Marner TOGETHER on line 1

0 for 2 on the power play, both 5 minutes in the first, is completely unacceptable. especially in the playoffs, you CANNOT miss out on those opportunities. wake up boy sand get it together.

Nylander has to find his game. Austin and Mitch were mostly ineffective. Brodie terrible hesitation to allow the breakaway. Less mistakes, more effort and finish will turn it around.

Steve facetiously saying the high stick was "the most obvious high stick in NHL history" the game after the Leafs won because an obvious high stick on Hagel was ignored is low key hilarious

people dont really realize that the leafs are the worst for blaming the refs when the refs are actually basically bought out by them, simply because no ones seen them last more than a round to see it happen.

Yea I'm a lightening fan admit freely Toronto won fair. No salt too the Leafs congratulations good luck ! But I'm cheering for Panthers I'm a Canadian hockey fan but I just love the Florida teams they are special to me. I don't care about franchise or joursey just rosters. Unless both teams dramatically change their cores I'll be routing for both Florida teams for the next 5 years atleast. If their was something special about the Leafs or Canucks or even Pheonix I'd route for them too! I'm not bummed out bolts lost first round. Bolts are warriors 2 Stanley cups and a third year Stanley Cup game 7 with injuries lol. Panthers may have gotten swept last year but I knew from the beginning Florida was strong and highly underated. Best of luck to the leafs.

Dangle is acting as if the double minor wasn’t called😒….try being in the Seattle market where Makar injured McCann with a dirty hit and not even a penalty was assessed. Jeez, the leaf media has too much whining and complaining even when the refs get the calls made (correctly)

They should take a page from the NFL and have the zebras wear headsets to be able to talk to each other without a huddle and to be able to talk the off-ice officials without having to go to the penalty box/scorer to get a headset/phone. New York should just radio in and say "we've looked, and this is the call"... would have been done in 30-seocnds...

0-2 LOL. And you can play with a herniated disc. My L4/L5 and L5/S1 have been herniated for over 10 years an i've not stopped playing. It actually feels better than walking or standing because you don't have to be upright. The hockey position actually feels better, just don't get knocked back on your ass because that'll be a world of pain.

Was Paul Maurice actually surprised it was 5-1 in penalties? There are ver few teams that take more penalties than Florida. Maybe tell your players to relax, they’ve been taking penalties all year

the leafs COMITTED just as many penalties during the game but just werent called. if any of the leafs players were named maroon, half their hits would have been illegal.
