In this full version of his exclusive CV Stories interview with The Coaches' Voice, England assistant manager Steve Holland reflects on his entire coaching career to date.
In the first chapter, he charts his progress through independent centres of excellence in the northwest of England and a long spell at Crewe Alexandra. That eventually led to him joining the coaching staff at Chelsea, where he initially worked with Carlo Ancelotti.
In the second chapter, he looks back on the first three seasons of his eight-year stay with Chelsea, which began under Ancelotti. After the Italian's departure, Holland was promoted to assistant first-team coach under André Villas-Boas and then assistant manager under Roberto di Matteo - a partnership that took Chelsea on an incredible run to the 2012 Champions League final.
In the final instalment, he revisits his history with the England national team - from his first meeting with Gareth Southgate to an exhilarating run to the semi finals of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
