That’s the reality. Rodman was bigger, taller, and supposedly slower than MJ in 1990 when they met in the ECF. But, his motor just kept on going that entire 7 games series, and also the next series guarding Magic who was bigger & stronger.

Phil has come out and said that Dennis Rodman was the best athlete he ever coached -- not the best player, obviously, but the best ATHLETE. He wasn't wrong. Rodman had freaky athleticism -- strength, speed, coordination, verticality, crazy motor, balance, body awareness...

Phil knew what the job was. The way he read his teams was uncanny. He always knew what each guy needed mentally in order to operate. Phil probably low-key picked Kerr and Buechler because he knew they needed that too. Phil’s nickname isn’t The Zen Master for no reason. Dude was a basketball genius and was amazing at managing people.

If you mean "best person" as in like upstanding, reliable, moral, and stuff like that then I honestly don't know. If you mean "best person" as in basketball player, then definitely not when Michael Jordan, the best to ever play the game of basketball, was on that team. So was Dennis Rodman and Scottie Pippin. I'm not sure how well some of the 90s Jordan Bulls' teams would do in today's league with how easy it is to get called for a foul today and with being able to shoot a 3-pointer being so important today, but they would probably still be able to win the championship today (if they weren't all like over 50 years old or older lol).

This is epic!! Never heard this story before! 😂 Got my own Rodman story. I had the privilege of being able to party w him back in…2010-11? maybe? Started off at Cheers, a bar in aft Lauderdale….Dennis buying 5 of us shots non stop….to all of a sudden having unimaginable amounts of some suspicious powder, (probably the ONLY reason I remember the little I do remember) to partying at Wet Willie’s in Miami to waking up in a random room in The Fontain Bleu….of course ALSO in Miami, next to Phoebe n Rachel (No bd, that what they SAID their names were) 😂 Who needs names anyway? I was very grateful I was only a decent cab ride (no Uber or Lyft then yet) away from my place in North Miami 😂 The second time at Cheers…not s as wild….just drinks n cigars n Dennis TRYING to play guitar when he went on stage n basically stole the dudes guitar n couldn’t play for SHIT!!!……and almost got kicked tf out for it (respectfully) as I turned down another spur of the moment, this time to Tampa trip. The fact that Jackson went to Judd and Steve Kerr to somehow reel in Dennis Rodman is insane to me lmao if anyone that could bring Ramon in to do what needs to be done would’ve been MJ and no one else

Phil understood what each player needed, it’s not fair however every players value is different and they know that if they’re keeping it a buck.
