this is an old classic and an amazing Steve Miller solo performance on the 12 string.

Excellent... I do believe the vocals in this version sound more like Steve than the original... But, maybe that's just me.

A Florida Son no I agree. With the exception of Jet Airliner, I like his voice live in concert better than the recordings.

I seen many concerts during the 80's. and the occasional concert after the 80's, but Steve Miller has been one of those concerts that I've always wanted to attend, but never have. Although, I partied a little heavy in the 80's, and there are many concerts that I wish I could get a redo, with my mind a little more clear, so that I could remember them -lol.

A Florida Son oh man you never saw them in concert? I never realized what an awesome guitarist Steve was until I saw him in concert back in 2005

Gee thanks, pour a little salt on my wounds -lol. I've only seen the videos of him live. He was hot during the 70's, as far as the "mainstream" music world is concerned, but now it seems (to me) that they only remember 4 or 5 of his hits (in my opinion anyway). But he is definitely one of the performers that has a loyal fan base beyond his hits. For me, I like it that way, because I get burnt out on certain songs and artist that get overplayed by mainstream media. Steve Miller is one of my favorites. I wouldn't want to get burnt out on his music. At the same time, I do think after the 70's, or really the early 80's, he wasn't given the rock-n-roll respect that he deserves. At the same time, I have to contradict myself, because he is also one of those artists who can still fill a huge venue, rather than reducing himself to small county fairs, so it just goes to show that "mainstream", is really important in the big scheme of things - lol.
