In every team there is a player that acts as a pivot that balances the team, if you remove that player the whole team structure collapses. Liverpool had Mane, Man Utd have Fernandez, Spurs have Kane, Arsenal have Partey, Man City have Kevin De Bryune, Chelsea have Kante. You might want to argue about how much impact these players have but it is the players that play alongside them that really feel the impact and are affected by their absence.

Not wanting to sing the Mane song but then for a guy they said was losing form cause he's past 30. Mane still bagged a goal and an assist yesterday helping Bayern to the top of the table. It's not just the goals, but Mane is a work machine, hardly loses form, hardly gets injured. Begins pressing the defence from the moment they touch the ball. Ofcourse, he leaving Liverpool isn't the cause of there currently downward spiral but we've got to ask if it doesn't contribute in some way. Feels like the Mane spirit(Klopps high pressing philosophy) has left Liverpool.

Quite a good assessment this. Does certainly look and feel like it's all coming about out of trying too hard, almost to the point of over working it, ironically when they were, so tactically good it used to look effortless. I said it when they lost the 2nd game, he’s lost the team. The style of play and schemes that Klopp demands is very hard guy’s, even for pros. Pep and Maurhino used to make the same mistakes but they learned to adapt and I think Klopp hasn’t been as quick to do so and he needed to get rid of a lot of the players on top and the midfield, get some defensive players to let VD get some new energy but nothing is ever promised.
