I was a Protestant for forty years but became Catholic in November 2019 at age 62. None of my family are Christians of any tradition so zI would love to have some of them Protestant and so atleast have some of them who love the Lord.

I see all denominations as I see all political parties. Most people who belong to one or the other were born into them. I remain Christian only and critical of anything that is no found in the word of God. Critical study is of paramount importance for anyone seeking the truth which is not always found in any particular denomination.

So what is the scenario of the boat and the raft? I’m in RCIA and left my job last fall after 21+ years at my non-denom church. Im trying to get my ‘ducks in a row’ before ‘coming out’ to my friends. Always love hearing other convert’s stories.

I am a convert from non-denom and entered the Church last year. I was looking to become a pastor and work in a Protestant church. After joining the Church I prayed to God for a new job and I walked into a Catholic Church for Mass one day and met the priest. I told him how I had revival on my heart and he asked me what job I had. I told him I was looking for a new job and he told me he was looking for someone to do evangelism. I now work in a Catholic Church doing evangelism. Though I didn’t work for 21 years in a non-denom church, I hope this can encourage you. Right now I’m helping new converts join the faith this Easter! God used your talents in a non-denom church, so He certainly can use those talents in the Catholic Church! Don’t be afraid to ask God for guidance and a new job

Hello Terry. God bless you in your journey. We hope RCIA is helping answer all of your questions. Here’s a link to the talk Steve did in our parish. Toward the end he tells the story of the boat and the rafts. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pKpoqsp6yqyxkpc.htmlfeature=shared He does a great job of explaining it, rather than me trying to type it out here. God Bless you.

Interesting story from Steve. Mine was similar, but in the opposite direction. I was raised Roman Catholic. When the Holy Spirit led me out of Catholicism and to a Protestant church, my mother got red in the face, yelled and berated me. So the experiences cut both ways. Mom came around after she saw the love of God working in our marriage and family, though. Trust in Christ, always! Because it was Jesus, not our denominations, that died to redeem us from our sins!

Joe the farmer here: Well I don’t believe that the Holy Spirit (HS) ever leads us away from his Church, I do believe he allows some of us to leave to strengthen us. I left the Church for a while it was ultimately the Eucharist that brought me home. I’m thankful for that time away from the Church, don’t recommend it but I appreciate it because of the love and appreciation I have for the Eucharist now. Check out my testimony. It’s here on the channel. Thanks for watching and sharing your experience.

I appreciate the work you do. Truly. However, the title of this episode, “ How to deal with Protestant…” is so in error that I can’t endorse this one. We don’t “deal”with these friends and family members- we LOVE them. The mindset that we are “dealing with” people will never bring them into the Faith.
@RomeBoys

@@RomeBoys By not qualifying that the CC is itself antagonistic towards non-Cath, Christians, you make inference that the CC is solely a victim. It's condescending to think anyone needs to be bothered, or pestered into accepting that man is only a temple of Christ if he bows to the CC. Your early leaders condoned the torture and slaughter of non-Cath. Christians. I can't find that Good Word in the Gospel. Certainly doesn't sound Christ inspired. That same pride follows the CC today.

I became a Christian in 1994, and that's all that God recognises. It amazes me as to the small mindedness of those that think they have a monopoly on the creator of the universe because of their decision to be called catholic. I love the Lord Jesus Christ more than life itself, and only call myself Christian. Christianos.." belonging to Christ" BEWARE that many whom you ridicule have been chosen by God.

May I ask if you watched this episode in its entirety? Because if you did, one of the steps Steve Ray recommends is to love them more than you ever have. Not ridicule but pray for them. Rest assured that we do not believe we have a monopoly on the creator of the universe, but that we have the fullness of the faith being in the Catholic Church, that Jesus, the creator of the universe, founded. Congratulations on your 30 year anniversary of becoming a Christian.

still waiting for any catholic to answer direct, clear, unambiguous Bible questions. if you do with integrity and accuracy, there is no possible way you will remain catholic - as it's not Christianity.

So if catholics are not christian then who were the christians for the first 1500 years? Who were the ones being slaughtered by the romans for not denouncing Christ? Who were the ones that canonized the Bible and decided what books where divinely inspired and have protected sacred scripture for centuries. Who has been teaching and passing down the deposit of faith from generation to generation? Who where the people reading and teaching scripture to the lay people because they couldnt read for themselves? Even if they could read, nobody could afford a Bible since they had to be hand written because there wasnt a printing press until the 15th century. Did Chrsitianity just come up out of nowhere in the 16th century? How does that work? Did Jesus wait that long for people to receive the "truth"? Can you answer me that with some integrity and historical accuracy?
@tony1685

@@Raul-pf2kq there are some catholics who are Christian, out of just not knowing what Truth is -- but Sir, catholicism is a knock off of God's church - they don't follow His Word and follow paganism. you won't know this if you don't get a Christian Bible and study It. start with basics, do you believe God's church still upholds His Truths -- as 1 Tim 3:15 states? do you believe God's people still show love to Jesus Christ -- as John 14:15 says?

@@tony1685 You completely ignored my questions? Why wont you answer them? The apostolic faith is Christianity and its the original. You will not find Sola Fida, Sola Scriptura, pre-destination, once saved always saved or anything else related protestantism in the early Church. I have read THE Bible, maybe you should try reading a complete Bible instead of a protestant bible. Until you realize that not everything was written down and that there were teachings taught through word to mouth you will never understand the apostolic faith. The word of God is an essential and a pillar of the truth in the Catholic faith. Why would the church prioritize its compiling in a council if they were not going to follow it? Why is scripture read in the mass if the Church doesnt follow it? Also you saying that Catholicis follow paganism completely disproves your credibility to even speak of Catholicism. I would suggest you actually looking into what the Church believes and teaches before making these fallacy's. You would be surprised on how many things people make up and lie about simply because they hate the Catholic Church.

@@Raul-pf2kq keep them all Biblical, friend -- not subjective, as that's how catholics bow out of discussions. notice, my questions are found in God's Word. your theories are dependent upon what a sinful man tells you. then you're also spamming me. meaning you're putting up entirely too many questions for one to possibly answer with accuracy, since there isn't space enough. this again is why Christians focus on God's Word, which answers Bible questions clearly and without question.
