There is that, but it really is more just a simple sense of panic of being among so many people he doesn't know in a place he is completely unfamiliar with. As he's spent so much time in solitude or in places he's prepared himself to be amongst people, such a situation does spawn a bit of panic. I know because that's exactly how I'd be. He knows as I know how busy a naval vessel can be and I'd be so worried about being in someone's way.

Rotors powered up, personnel strapped down aircraft, etc. The same sort of thing happened in the Iron Man movies. There was a process -- build-up -- to Tony Stark putting on his armor. The more recent MCU movies have potentially cool things -- except for Captain America summoning Mjolnir -- happen in the blink of an eye.

I'm kinda torn about a couple things. I like how he built a friendship or understanding with Hulk and he's become a little more relaxed, friendly, and accepting, but Hulk doesn't seem to have the cool increasing strength (with anger) from the comics and Banner is still unsure of himself. He should know who he is and that he's trying to do the right things and Hulk is now tame enough to be used in good ways and accepted by people, but he's not angry enough to use Hulk to his full strength, NOT TRAINING/PRACTICING activating/fighting (unlike every other hero, which is awesome progression with them), and can't seem to be open enough to people and at peace. Hulk's emotions inside him and the risk of him emerging probably limits his peace, but Hulk's not a monster anymore, just an immense powerhouse with some control issues.

gotta love tho that he is looking at the situation not with horror, but with a kind of morbid fascination. He doesnt want the Hulk to come out and ruin his life even further, but at the same time part of him has to laugh at the idea of the hulk being confined on an airship. Kinda foreshadows the way he acts in endgame. Many people said he was too much of a goof then (which is kinda true), but it also doesnt come from nowhere

It's been almost a decade since I saw this movie, and somehow, I had completely forgotten just how badass did the Helicarrier taking off look like. Such a shame Hydra infiltrated Shield and they had to destroy all 3 of them in TWS. If not, they might have had some good air support against Thanos in Infinity War and Endgame.
