I have two axes with 401 kits,and in two years i never discovered the low volume tone needed to play this song.Now i do and have been practicing this song.Almost finnished,having trouble with the last legato runs in the end.Also have to get rid of one of these to make room for my new arrival,07 1570mrr,pulled the edge pro out,put a low pro edge in,401 kit set up just like steves with evos.And dummy next to the driver.Custom clear pickguard and truss rod cover.Mint,Let me know,401 kits rock.

I love the face he makes when he's reversing the position of the vibrato bar. I've seen a lot of Vai faces, none quite as body-involving and nerve thinglingly hilarious as that one.

you have to take the back plate off and screw in the springs a little bit, because its a floating bridge and it has to have equal tension from the strings and from the springs for it to sit level...real annoying trying to set one up

Yep watch Velvet Revolver play fall to pieces on the myspace stream they did. Slash's string gets stuck under his humbucker and you can really tell when it happens. Steve and a few other players I know of tape it up so that doesn't happen.

Does anybody know? Can you use the Evolution HB bridge pick up with the Fernandez single coil sustainer system? Or do you have to use the HB pickup that comes with it in the bridge?

It's really a hard technique to nail right...Paul Gilbert is seen sometimes using it.

@YoungGun552 hmmm thats interesting... ive been playing with tens and 11s my entire life so i wonder if swwitching to 9s will make a difference i mean it would make sense after a few months on tour playing what he does on tens i guess it would make sense to relax your hands and put 9s, but ive always been told anything lower than 10s will dull your sound and sorta give it that non full tone but idk

every guitar can be tuned to any tuning you want. you need to tighten- or loosen up those 3 springs on the back of the guitar but I wouldn't recommend it doing that on your own if you've never done it. have somebody show it to you, it's not that hard really...
