Dear Steve, thanks so much for sharing your beautiful songs. This is gonna be a long comment and hope you read this some day.. I became a fan of yours in the early 80's! I'm an Indiana girl, and I was surfing the Indy stations, early to mid 1980 and I heard "Starting Over Again" and absolutely fell I'm love with the song! Then you released "Life's Highway" and WOW what a great song. So these two are my favorites, along with "When A Woman Loves" and "Domino Theory"!! Your voice and song writing is incredible! Also, your expert and dynamic guitar playing is amazing! The truth is, you and your songs converted my swing from a rock and roll fan, (classic rock now) to country. I grew up on a farm in central southern Indiana where my Dad always played his Martin D28 guitar and sang almost daily. He played rhythm along with his French harps, and he was very talented, even wrote a few songs. He raised a family of nine kids, worked hard but always had time for his music. Dad taught several of us kids to play several instruments, guitar, bass, drums, harmonica. Several of my brothers are accomplished musicians and great singers, who plays in country bands. Dad taught me how to harmonize at a very young age, about six years old. He sang country and gospel, with my mother too who mostly sang lead because she couldn't harmonize. He sang Kansas City Lights a lot, He had met my Mom in Kansas City when he was playing in some honky tonks there. Dad was also in WWII, and has now passed in 2019 was 93. He continued playing guitar and singing until he went to be with the Lord, singing Hallelujahs to God with the angel's now! Dad really admired you as well. So, I've attended many of your concerts, all over, even in Texas back in 1997, (can't remember the city) and your friend, Nolan Ryan was there, from the Texas Rangers. That was cool. I also loved your concert in downtown Indianapolis on the 4th of July, 1990, I think. Also enjoyed your performance in Laporte, Texas too! I have seen you perform many shows, I can't remember all of them, but you were always FANtastic!! Your Dad Roy was a super nice man. I met him at his music store in Noblesville once when I picked up some d'addario strings as a gift to my Dad, Hugh Harold Brown. Anyway, you definitely influenced me to sing better harmony because I can sing to your songs very easily. I've listened, and sang along to all your songs a hundred times!!! I've also admired Lisa Silver's harmony singing and song writing as well. I guess I'm sharing this post to let you know how special you and your amazing talent is to me! Thank you again for doing these awesome Wariner Wednesdays on KZfaq. I still listen to them often. I really like all your songs and feel blessed to hear you and listen to your podcasts! From an Indiana girl to an Indiana boy, you touched my heart! And, I've got many of your albums and CD'S. God bless you and your family Steve, thanks again! 💖

Re-Watching your Wariner Wednesday Shows - They were a source of great comfort to me during the pandemic and it was fun to get to see the personal side of you and the stories behind some of your songs. I used to crank the radio up at our service station garage when the mechanics would let me and loved when your music would come on. First heard you perform live around 1986 or 1987 at the Concord Pavilion, I think you opened for Alabama or Hank Jr? I've been a HUGE fan of yours ever since. One of my favorites Wariner Wednesdays was when your son Ross was home for Christmas and you both played Christmas songs together, could tell you really liked playing together. Thanks Steve!!! - Jody from Highland Utah

Way to Go SteveO...Not sure how ya popped up on my Utube today but I'm glad you did. :) Awesome and Beautiful Guitar Covers! The height of music, entertainment and intimacy is a well-done guitar solo, and Imo you're on a par with the likes of Glen Campbell. Takes me back to my late 80's dancin days when I finally learned how to 2-step at the Westheimer Clubs in Houston. Had a tall blond dance partner and I always asked the DJ to play I got Dreams and The Weekend. That George, Clint, Garth, Reba Era was a great time for Country Music and it got me into dancing, singing and writing. I wrote and demoed about 30 good country licks but was too busy workin for man and never got them out. Then bout 15 years later I had a meeting with The Man upstairs. He told me, son if you wanna make it as a singer/writer you need to quit writing Honkytonk and write about things that Count...like Me. I agreed and finished about a dozen awesome spirituals in about 10 days. One of my latest is a Godly love song called, If God Gave Me Your Heart. Ya know sometimes the music doesn't justify great lyrics, and sometimes the lyrics don't justify great music where if they did the songs could have been MEGAHITS. I always say, anything you add God to, will get better. So, I took the first song I learned to sing and play on the piano as a kid at 7, Ray Charles' What I Say, and cut the Honkytonk and added God to it. You'd never believe now how it Rocks the very Heavens, just by changing "Hey Mama Don't Ya Treat Me Wrong," to "I Pray Lordy Want Hear My Song, I'm Gonna Praise You All Day Long!" Brother Ray could really Kill it Now, and who knows maybe we'll sing a duet someday. :) Hopefully our close encounter today will help me get my act together for the Lord, and get His songs out. I'll Sub and try to catch up and keep up with you. God Bless Ya!

You have always been my all time favorite artist , and your style is unmatched in any way form or fashion. My brother and I saw you at the Russel county fair and boy was you sound something else now. and your sound guy was incredible. My brother has seen you several times and even bought a guitar from your dad at his house. Yes sir I have a picture of Roy giving it to him. Very precious memories. It was number 197and he still cherishes and plays his Steve Wariner signature series takamine almost every day. Your style has rubbed off on both us I guess and I just had to comment and thank you for all the years of great music.
