Excellent interview Steve, so that would carbon date you at about 16 when you were a trainee pro for a short time - Woodlands was it circa 1980? Big move to come to Aus as a teenager!

Doesn't really explain himself well, we still don't know what he means with 'hard to caddy for' or why he and Norman split. Didn't learn much from this interview.

Read his book. He explains EVERYTHING about their relationship, as well as his relationship with Tiger. It is a very good book.

Caddys do not get enough credit. Tiger was a better player when Steve was his caddy. It seemed like once Steve was gone his career went on a slow decline.

So the man who judges & condemns Tiger Woods started his career on a lie (And still tried to lie when Norman's wife asked him point blank how old he was) and is "Extremely" loyal...until someone comes along with a better pay offer. Yeah right. I notice his loyalty doesn't extend to keeping confidences between player & caddie.

@Calum Fitzpatrick II would think the caddie's career would be up and down. If a player is not playing well something has to change, maybe the clubs and balls go first but next would be the caddie or coach. Someone has to take the blame for poor play or maybe they just get sick of each other.

I actually thought the overwheming 'take' on this interview is that Steve was showing a lot of humility. You obviously already have a negative attitude towards this man.

Steve should be grateful that he completely lucked out in life ( as far as getting paid tons for carrying clubs), but he comes off as a guy that thinks it takes an athlete to carry clubs. Dude... go to a mirror and say to yourself over and over. ' I carry clubs for a living, I'm a NOBODY!'
