Once that was determined as a good goal, the Rangers could have challenged the goalie interference which may or may not have overturned the call on the ice. Foolish not the challenge at that point in the game and the series IMO.

Same here-I thought that attempted elbow-follow through against Palat who ducked would have given the series to Rangers-of he connected with that-would have been total concussion and Rangers likely would have won this series in 6 or 7… just as they did against the penguins… I love hard hitting hockey-but can’t stand players who lay in the weeds and look to throw killer head shots..: probably scarred being a flyers’s fan and remembering how Scott Stevens did similar plays against Eric Lindros using his shoulder against the head to give him multiple concussions… yea Lindros played that hard hitting game but never took purposeful head or knee shots that I think are just malevolent and cheap and could easily end player’s careers.

If your saying this goal is no good..then Devils goal in 2012 that beat Rangers in ECF should be waved off..that thing rebounded about 5 times in front of goalie..Devils kept banging at loose puck hitting goalies glove I think 3 times in front of net.

I am a lightning fan-basically have liked and followed Jon cooper since 2015-primarily a flyers fan and would be pulling my hair out-as a leaf’s fan especially game six-shaky calls to get 5-3 and then Toronto absolutely outplayed Tampa in overtime-if you had Shesterkin in goal would have beaten lightning in 5…. Frustrating thing too is your goaltender seemed to play at his best and don’t see him sustaining that next year…as a Flyers’ fan who hasn’t had a stud goaltender since death of Pelli Lindbergh in 1985 and before that goaltender Bernie Parent… not having a world-class goaltender is so utterly frustrating too…

Depends on how Col plays. If they play they’re speed game, they don’t spend a lot of time in their end, they are quicker than TB but they can’t get sucked into TBs style of play or they’ll lose. TB definitely has the edge in goal and obviously experience but you have to gain experience at some point, making predictions is just dumb, let both teams play and see how it shakes out.

@@bza069 I'm not convinced. Dropping the playback speed, to me it looks like the glove contact happens, then the puck crosses the line noticeably afterwards. Does the question simply become could Shesterkin have been able to realistically stop that, regardless of his catcher being hit? Igor's good, but that's a tough save. Regardless, I don't think it was a bad call for good goal, but I also wouldn't have argued if they waved it off.

I have no team in this series, don't care who wins, and I agree the Rangers got robbed. THAT was goaltender interference. Just think of the goals you have seen disallowed because of interference, and THAT one counts? Stamkos collided with Shosterkin's glove as he was playing the puck with his glove, thus the contact in the blue-paint prevented the goalie from playing his position. The problem is that there are no rules in the NHL. Of course, there is a rule book, but nobody knows from one shift to the next what is a fair play or a penalty, a good goal or interference, a skate deflection or a kick, a 5-minute major/game misconduct/suspension or nothing-to-see-here.

Stamkos clearly moves his left hand forward and hits the goalie's glove. Can't tell from the replay whether Stamkos' glove advanced the puck, or merely interfered with Shosterkin's glove, either way the puck was outside the goal at the time, and the contact impeded the goalie: no goal. The fact that the goalie fumbled the initial shot has no bearing on whether Stamkos interfered and/or gloved the puck into the goal.

Tampa tends to get far more pp's especially this time of year then they give up. Tampa is one of those teams that tends to get a lot of calls. It has become noticeable to more fans in these playoffs, but I began seeing it as far back as 2018. The league and the Canadian hockey media love Stamkos and Cooper. Those things matter in close games when one call can make the difference.

Rangers took the first two games and Rangers fans were talking about a sweep. Now that they lose 4 in a row because they made terrible adjustments and couldn't play 5 on 5 they're "obviously fatigued"? Stop with the excuses. Tampa came in rusty, made the adjustments and shut down the Rangers everywhere except on special teams. The Rangers made no or bad adjustments. That was the difference. Should've buried TB when you had the chance.

I said after two that the series ain’t done bc the lightning are a hard team to put away..that doesn’t stop the fact that they won three of the four by one goalwhike those games where also decided by lucky goals..plus if you actually watched hockey you could see that the rangers where gassed the last two games
