Honestly, everybody thought they knew it back in Season 1 because of the lack of gems in the show back then, so... technically we were right, but there was actually a deeper explanation to this so I actually freaked out back when I first reacted to this episode like, "Oh my gosh! Everything makes sense now!" Remember in Season 1, in "Rose's Scabbard", when Pearl told Steven that he looked like his mother, now I get it because his hair resembles Pink Diamond's hair more.

This was a plot point that was planned from the show’s conception and has been foreshadowed since the very first ep!! There’s a really great video you should check out by awestruckvox where he covers all the foreshadowing throughout the show’s run, it’s astounding how many lines and eps take on different meanings now because of this twist. Loved your reaction as always, I’ve been waiting for you to get to this ep for like a year now!

Pink diamond wanted a colony She got one on earth She grew gems such as amethysts , jaspers and rose quartzs She noticed the beautiful life on earth and wanted the life to live because gem production sucked the life out of the planet She was afraid of yellow and blue diamond , so instead of telling them she did something worse Pearl was so loyal to pink diamond She asked her to shapeshift and pretend to shatter her The diamonds were so upset that they bubbled every single rose quartz gem And thats why all the gems want to capture rose quartz

So great to watch Missybee's reaction. I didn't get such a big WTF moment, because about 10 episodes before this, I saw a YT thumbnail and title that spoiled it. The title was "Rose Quartz Transforms Into Pink Diamond" or something like that. Without even clicking on the video, the surprise was spoiled. There was enough detail that I still didn't know to make it worth watching, but the big reveal that PD and RQ were the same was not a surprise. Having been so robbed, it was great to experience it vicariously here. THANKS MISSYBEE! Now that I've seen this, I'll probably skip ahead to the movie and the reactions, that are already uploaded as I write this. But I just HAD to see this one.

Missy, this episode was so important that it was broadcasted in the entire Americas at the same time. I remember when the entire fandom of my country (Brazil) went crazy when the world realized only Brazil had a Sneak Peek of the episode. Lol it was so weirrd to see other countries videos talking about the sneak peek with my native language dub (portuguese) and Fan-made English Subtitles, really weird lol it's usually the other way around. It was amazing when it happened
