A more adult themed reboot like they did with Fionna and Cake would be nice

I think a series with Pink Diamond as the main character would be nice, with the series starting at her creation and ending when steven was born. Showing the gem/diamond creation lore, seeing her relationship with the other diamonds, getting an in depth look of what homeworld was like and how it developed, gem war episodes to see how she played both sides and also getting an episode of the shattering itself, how the gems dealt with the diamond attack and what it was like when it was just pearl, garnet, amerhyst and rose, maybe even seeing the og obsidian and RQ 2.0 content, there is literally so much I wanna see still

Here's an idea: remember how we supposedlysaw Pink Diamonds redemption arc in reverse, but then Future kapt constantly crapping on her, and the movie made her do something unexcusable by revealing what she did to Spinel? Series about her. Better explain why she didn't lead the rebellion as a diamond. Explain why she didn't save Spinel. Actually show her redeeming herself and trying to be a better person

I would love rose/pink to be the main character in the reboot… orrrr if we still want Steven to be in it… it can be a series of Steven dreaming in the place of rose.. like who stevonnie dreamt in place of pink

I honestly would like to see what Homeworld was like before the war, how everyone's lives were and the structure of homeworld in detail. Also seeing how the diamonds came into being and who created them. Sing that without the censorship getting in the way would be very fascinating. As well as having a few flash forwards in reference is here and there to Steven universe proper for a prequel.

If Steven Universe does get a new series, I think the plotlines should be: 1. Steven's new life (like seeing his theraphist (on screen) and controlling his Pink state). 2. The origin of the Diamonds. 3. Episodes on the other characters like Lars and the Off-Colors now that Steven has left Beach City. 4. Show us what happened in the timeskip between Change Your Mind and the Movie. 5. Other alien races are. 6. Show us what happened in the timeskip between I Am My Monster and The Future.

I wouldn’t want Steven to be heavily involved in gem stuff again, the point of future was to show how much he missed out on and how much it messed him up being so sucked into that side of his life. I would like to see him growing up and being an adult and discovering himself, and on the flip side the gems can be dealing with all the gem stuff and learning how to operate and keep things under control while he’s gone. And yess seeing a proper Lars of the Stars adventure would be awesome aswell!

If they ever made a new Steven series, I would enjoy something more chill, like just steven living in a new, unfamiliar human based world without any gem oddities. he would have to learn to live among human society with little prior knowledge about it, while also still being a young adult without family or friends around often like he's used to. Rebecca Sugar talked about liking the idea of a comic of just a day in the life of a college student living just a boring, simple life in the Steven Universe podcast, but I forgot which episode. Though it might not appeal to those who enjoy more action and plot heavy steven universe content, I would enjoy it none the less. This idea even fits in with steven's character, as he has constantly lived through gem society his whole life and never touched on his human half much, and repeatedly is seen yearning for a simpler life as a normal human. I might be yappin but I just wanted to say this :)

Either we get a story about the War or something revolving around Steven’s personal growth as an adult

The whole "gems are computer-like beings, The diamonds create gems, Who created the Diamonds" debacle is something that is soo interesting and yet something I kinda don't want to see, a real big factor in the magic of the show is that a lot of the history of gems is really vague and not touched so if it were revealed it would kinda ruin that magic if that makes sense, like we see the diamonds are the top of the gem hierarchy even after era 3, but if they give insight into some other group that created them, it kinda dampens their image and makes them less significant. but that's just what I thing, if they did pursue a history of the diamonds and who created them it would certainly be interesting but just something I don't think is the best thing to see. i would much rather see something like insight into the life of homeworld after era 3 and the impact on homeworld of the dramatic change in shifting away from a monarchy; or just more insight into rose, pearl, bismuth and whatever other gems during the gem war and what it was like for them.

I don’t remember where else I commented this, but we need a prequel/spinoff that explains the setting lore of the SU universe, who, when and how made the diamonds, how they became their own species, the eras 1 and 2, then the gem wars, explain pink, her story, the crystal gems origin in depth, another show could be Steven being human, at least this is what I think should be how SU continues, steven was too consumed by his gem life that he didn’t have a chance to be a kid and grow up

I know it's not going to happen but I'd love an alternate ending where we pick up after large of the stars, where the show started getting rushed. It'd feature a more complex way the diamonds were defeated, and more mature themes. If future-like plot points occur afterwards in this hypothetical reset, I'd love jasper to be the main villain, acquiring allies in bluebird and the other lapises etc. And I'd love the show to tackle perma death, with shattering being final, and maybe even jasper being permanently shattered. A show about redemption, tackling someone who does not want to be redeemed

Honestly I'd prefer them to simply reset the story back to the beginning where the original started, and retell the story with a few changes here & there so that the storytelling aspect of the series stops focusing on having it all be told from Steven's perspective, where the audience doesn't learn anything unless Steven becomes aware of it(cause if Steven doesn't know it happened than it may as well never have happened at all, that may have been fine back in Season One, but not for the Whole Damn Series! It's basically the show's greatest flaw), and made the storytelling closer to how it was done in Adventure Time(with Finn & Jake), where the earlier episodes/seasons were mostly told from the title character's perspective, with some scenes showing us what some side characters were doing in the meantime, then in later seasons we would get some episodes that focus more on side characters' stories, even going so far as to not include the title characters in some episodes at all, and have said episodes focus on other characters' development or just expand their world's lore(like how Adventure Time did an episode that told the Origin story of the Ice King's Crown), That's the kind of storytelling I Want to see from Steven Universe, but I'm afraid at this point we can only get that if we redo the whole thing but in a different way(like how the Full Metal Alchemist anime did a full reset with Brotherhood & became better than the Original, in my opinion at least), I know it's a lot to ask for, but with how the franchise's storytelling is currently set to, I think a full reset is the only way we can get more Steven Universe in a way that won't be so disappointing to the fans, just leave the Original Series as it is & start all over again with a new version that is similar yet different in it's own ways, at least that's what I'm hoping what they'll ultimately do.

I feel like if they truly had to reboot this show they should give the gems a long lost foe, think about it for what purpose would they go to such lengths to carve out their home planet and have all these soilders being made if there isnt anything big enough to logically need an ever expanding army. My idea would be that an old for from say 50,000 years ago emerges and that they had once originally defeated but at a cost of their victory the original gem wqs the sole survivor of the clash however while her gem wasnt shattered and shes not a fusion however she was somehow split into a white diamond a yellow diamond and a blue diamond theyare all the same gem but each formed completely new personalities (given how white diamond described them during the final battle inside her head ship) and had lost their memories of that event but they each felt a need to expand and form as many gem soilders as possible feeling the danger of the evil entities emergence in some far flung future but could no longer recall why eventually the white diamond drew out of herself the pink tint of her diamond and used it alongside some essence to form pink diamond as a means to purify herself given her new standards she felt inferior and imperfect removing the caring and empathatic part of herself entirely (Honesty i noticed how each diamond has their own personality but still feel like part of the same gem like as if thwir personalities were split) Given how Steven had to grow more especially his more human side and with all the therapy he has been given Steven now in his late 20s to early 30s is now properly equipped to deal the emergence of this new threat and must now protect the gems the humans and the galaxy but with him having done all his personal growth he can take on the role of a defender as he takes on an entity that drains the energy out of gems and turns them into just basic gems without the ability to ever reform or live or even glow it becomes a pretty but useless stone Steven faces his final hurdle of an enemy that cant be reasoned with

I'd love to see how Steven processed his trauma and see how his opinion or relationship to his mother change as he heals. Maybe having a more in-depth flashback with PD so he could have a better understanding of how she viewed herself and why she made the decisions she made. Maybe coming to term with his resentment towards her. Not necessarily forgiving her, but at least coming to a place of understanding and being able to put his resentment to rest. That's something I'd like to see. Maybe through that exploration, we get more lore about gemkind and such.

I think we will have to wait a few years or so.. Rebecca Sugar is doing a new movie project that is not Steven related and Cartoon Network is busy with trying to reboot Regular show and others. Still I’m pretty sure it will be back but Rebecca Sugar also said that she is taking a break and that Steven Universe future ending was temporary. It’s just it will take a few years like Regular show when it ended in 2017 but now there are doing a regular show reboot I think.

I could see the Diamonds get an actual redemption arc if they finally have to face their creators. Because right now they do good things but only because of the surface level of empathy the diamonds learned to appease Steven. Maybe a bit of humble pie might make them do good for the right reasons: liberate the gems from their program made by their alien creator because they deserve better, not because the Diamonds specifically benefit or because Steven would be proud if they did it.

I would prefer a spin off instead of a reboot, after what happened to Ben 10, it´s crear that Cartoon Network has no idea in that matters. I think a spin off of the gem war would be the best option to see, is something we still don´t know much about it, and it would be an awesome story having Rose/Pink as the portagonist and having the possibility to explore more this character being so good but so complicated at the same time, i think a series of the past could begin with the story of the gems, how the diamonds were cretaed, and the past of Pink Diamond with her original pearl, also the evolution from that childlish inmature gem to the person who ended being. And it could finish with her death and the birth of Steven. There´s so much lore hide both in the present and the past of the show, but no doubt that the past need to be explored, so a series of that would be a great option.

How about a sequel where we see what happens to Steven but he has to hide the fact he’s a gem and the people of Earth (outside of Beach City) hate gems based on events that we’ve seen in the original show? Another idea have is what I call Greg Universe and the Crystal Gems, it’s a prequel series that focuses on Greg and the gems before Rose became Steven. Personally I think the first idea would be better for exploring mature themes such as racism.

Okay, so this is i want in a steven universe reboot -Showing the negatives in the human side, like corruption, and poverty. Is earth really worth saving when some humans are scums? Perhaps more steven, amethyst, and connie being vigilantes and trying to overthrow a corrupt politician from a nearby city. -Sneaple being descendants from earth life billions of years ago. They escaped the earth and became a prosperous empire for billions of years. Their technologies are gembased. One of their most powerful computer went rogue (white diamond) and demolished the sneaple empire. -Lars and Steven are introduced to resistances from various races who were affected by the gem's expanse. Perhaps a resistance coalition like from invincible against the viltrumites. -ACTUAL war in the show, thousands of ships from various races against the gem empire showing the full might of both sides. -Dark side of the coalition, forcing gems to be computers and technologies. For example, forcing gems to make half-gem hybrids. Or using dozens of sapphires as a divination machine on their warships. -steven codemning the diamonds to their crimes with the help of all the other races. Perhaps they will be subjected to various tortures for their warcrimes. -evil humans trying to harness gem technologies for power or for utility. Like for example using lapis lazulis as slaves for cleaning out ocean debris.

for a show about this advanced, magical alien race governed by a totalitarian, intergalactic empire, we honestly didn't get to see much of gem society, like AT ALL. we don't much about their social customs (besides loyalty to the hierarchy) & overall culture, we don't know anything about their interactions with other advanced alien species, we never visited a gem-controlled planet in the middle of colonization, & we don't know anything about their origins at all, they're clearly an artificial species with sophisticated coding, so they must have creators. overall, while i do love & cherish the series, i feel like it didn't focus on enough interesting topics that the lore was building up to.

Id like to see the viewpoint from the other side. They must've killed off ALOT of lives during their expansion so, Id like to see what other aliens think of them, if there were any smart aliens. Idk

I still really want to know the origins of the Diamonds. Especially White as I imagine she was the first gem ever made. She didn’t make herself so who made her, why did they make her. White seems to think she herself has a purpose that she fulfilled for eons “I’m supposed to be better, I’m supposed to make everything better” I imagine it’d be a sad story, rouge AI destroys her creators deeming them as flawed and imperfect. Would also explain why she knows what a “child” even is. She was once created by organic life and saw how they operated.

Maybe do a reboot like ben 10, re tell the story but with some changes, so now rebbecca has the chance to make the series how it was intended to be (like having 8 whole seasons as it was supposed to be) while also polishing the series.

Idk why there’s many comment saying Steven shouldn’t be the main character of a future entry in the series. All gems and characters revolve around testing or supporting him. So if a series for adult Steven were to ever be a possibility I think we’d have to see a radical shake up as to who should be at the centre of the plot. Characters like peridot and garnet to me don’t really have much more story to tell but characters like amethyst and pearl have many opportunities to expand on there characters. I’d be all in on a college slice of life adaption in the first season. Similar to the og counterpart. The usual shenanigans one would get up to in college but make it magical . The whole season would culminate in him choosing responsibility he believes is best , that being the diamonds and the whole show juggles between his struggles of human life and being in the centre of era 3. I also believe if theyvever were to reboot it they would introduce a conflicting species that has it out for the gem empire. The sneeple were a throwaway but I could see them going back to this and make them real. Maybe while in college snake people are slowly taking over the world through little references on tv and the news until Steven no longer can simply live a normal life as that is now compromised by a threat that isn’t gem

Steven Universe: Gem Wars

I'd like to see a Little Homeschool show without Steven. The other Crystal Gems can take over as co-protagonists teaching a constantly revolving cast of gem students how things are done on earth. Kind of like a supernatural school show. There's a lot of potential to learn more about the nature and history of gems in a show like this. And if it must involve Steven in some way, it should be in a B-plot where Steven is learning some kind of lesson during his travels, and it converges with the lesson the gems are learning at Little Homeschool. I don't want Steven to be roped back into another gem conflict. He's earned his right to take a road trip in peace and live a human life for a while.

I think a what if style show with Garnet or Rose as the narrator could be really interesting but I think they should leave the original continuity alone, Future is a great sequel and I wouldn’t want to risk ruining that

I like that idea, but why can't we let shows die? Like don't get me wrong, there's literally nothing in this world that does me better than this show, it's been there as an important part of my journey in life. And sure I am kind of just deterred by the simple fact that the time skip wasn't as I hoped, and i have valid reasons, but that's still just my opinion. The point I REALLY want to make is that making more Steven Universe for Steven Universe will just get things messy, a good show knows when to conclude. Where's it going to end if we keep going? If we don't let it rest, this world that Rebecca created will be forced 6 feet under by our own hands. We should all say no anyway, not everything needs a sequel or a continuation.
