When you first started taking them apart, I thought the only difference was going to be the display and battery size. I'm glad you did as we could see that the motors and pumps were larger on the pro and pro max as well!

Really you might like to look at the 30 day warranty first, this should tell you all you need to know about this made in China item; this product will only last as long as the battery longevity your guess would be as good as mine as no such information is given by this KZfaqr?

Been using the cheapest model for several months and probably 2500 miles…Its the most used pump on the rides, great for topping off a tire that lost air during a slow to seal puncture on a tubeless, or for the occasional tubed rider flat. My only complaint was the lack of gauge, which is solved with the new pro models, which of course I already ordered. I also have the much larger Cyc plus pump about the size of a water bottle, and replaced the chuck with the excellent Silca one for ease of use. I use this in the garage to inflate my tires prior to rides since the bikes are wall mounted, and it goes a month without charging.

Great review. Firstly, I wasn't aware of the Ozito pump. I'll be getting one of those for sure. Currently, I carry 3 CO2 cannisters along with a mini pump. If I swap out the cannisters for the AS2 it looks like a great weight saving and AS2 is more effective . Thanks

Definitely considering one of those. I run tubeless on all my bikes, usually fill up with CO2 when I get a puncture (which isn't recommended for the sealant). The wheels on my new bike explicitly forbid the use of CO2 so I'll be stuck with a handpump or need to get something like the cycplus.

Nice informative review, thanks. Worth noting however that packing an unboxed inner tube tightly against tyre levers & a multitool could very likely cause them to rub a hole in the tube (as I discovered to my cost). I keep the tube in its box now

Interesting. Noisy AF though, I wish the shop version were properly insulated, I don't pump enough tyres to justify that noise instead of thirty seconds of pumping. Also, thank you for all the content you create. You're a direct influence on me switching to waxed chains years ago, I can't say my chains last longer nor can I say I save watts, but I love the cleanliness and I've been doing waaaay more bike maintenance and have become way more familiar with bike mechanics because of waxed drivetrains, just because they're not nasty to work with. I think that's the biggest gain at society level: understand your bike better, use it more, maintain it better. Thank you.

I have the cube but Im a multi discipline rider. I own 32c tires, and a 54c tires. I predict you will get slightly more battery cycles (device longevity) when using high volume low pressure tires. The poor thing just produces so much heat when trying to exceed 50 psi that I only use it in short bursts to try and manage the internal heat doin all that dumb entropy n shit and gettin ma battries all hot.

Could you please test on several tires how much time it takes to pump for a certsin pressure with the smaller epump. And make a table with tire width, pressure, time. One can use tese data combined with machine learning (SVM) regression analysis to predict a required time for a given tire width and desired pressure. And as always - very informative video! seems like a good thing to have besides the handpump to make the last 10 psi easy of yours and your riding mates. 2x pumps from 0 until the battery goes out is kinda unrealiable as youll def. forget to charge it from time to time

I usually carry a small external battery for my phone and it will easily charge the Cube in 20 minutes. I recently had a flat and got my tube pumped up three times (406 tube) on my recumbent. It might be two fills on a 700 tire

@@kenmcclow8963 external batteries afaik are kinda heavy. The lithium battery is just a heavy metal. Not everyone is in it to carry another gadget. But going by yourself on centuries I suppose many bring also that external battery too so yeah
@kenmcclow8963
@kenmcclow8963 4 ай бұрын
@@asteropeuspeoneos5406 There are a lot of external battery sizes, but the one I bring is about a third the size of the phone and about as thick. It’s 10.5cm L x 3.5cm W x 0.4cm H. I already have it in case my phone needs help and it’s less bulky than a CO2 pump with a spare cartridge. I don’t usually carry more than two inner tubes anyway if I am out for the day. Maybe if I was going to go on a tour I might carry more, but then I have a external battery that’s the size of my phone with a solar panel because I would also need to charge my watch and earbuds

Bought the AS2 Pro Max, and actually, I was expecting something huge in size, but truly it is the size of a rolled up innertube, no bigger. Guess that goes to show how minimal most of us riders tend to get haha. So It fit nicely under my saddle. I did use it on the road after I forgot to pump my tires up and noticed my tire felt squishy after vacation, added 10psi and just like that it was a charm to use. I highly recommend it! No CO2 can possibly give you only 10 psi so that's the big plus.

None of these mini pumps (including those intended for cars and motorcycles) have replaceable batteries such as 14500/18650, and the degeneration of battery will be an issue in the long term. I think another necessary feature is an "eco mode" which runs slower but is quieter and less hot.

Thanks for this very informative video. I think this device might be excellent for bikepacking. Plus, I'm not currently happy using CO2 cartridges because; a.) they put CO2 into the atmosphere; and, b.) once used they are gone if you get another flat. That said, I guess lithium batteries are bad for our environment, too. My question is, how much volume of air do you get out of a battery charge? I'm running 27.5" x 4" fat tyres. I would hope to get multiple re-inflations from a single charge.

You put out a video about TPU specifically noting TPU is safe to use a CO2 to inflate. Now you say it may freeze the TPU making it brittle and lose air. Do you have evidence / experience either way? Personally I've inflated 2 TPU's with co2 and they are still in the bike rolling fine.

Some riders have experienced total leakage near the valve stem cement point , especially with the ultralite tpu tubes. Best to inflate in a few steps with a minute or two between inflations.

Co2 cannot pump tpu tube? Thank u letting me know
@vromaka
@vromaka 4 ай бұрын
Well, you can pump it, the problem is in adiabatic cooling, which occurs when CO2 expands from the cartidge into the tube. The flexibility of the polymer is temperature dependent, so the tpu tube may "crack" when the pressure goes up but tube's flexibility is reduced.
@cyclingfastest5053

Schwalbe says about their Aerothan, that you can pump their TPU with an CO2. But it has to be already and only inside the tire. What I always do: Outside the tire, I'm pumping it up with my mouth, just a little bit. When the tire is seated, I go on with the CO2. Never had any problems, like lasting not so long, or cracking, etc... But my experience is only with Schwalbe Aerothan. Don't know how it works with other brands. Would reckon the same.
