In today's video, I toured the top 10(ten) most expensive and luxurious neighborhoods reserved for the wealthy Nigerians.
Nigeria is portrayed to be a poor country by the western media, but yet, some of its citizens live in very luxurious mansions that can compete with international standards. This is not the everyday estate you will see around, as a matter of fact, most of these residential communities are reserved for a certain class of citizens, providing high tech security, upscale and contemporary home only for the 1 percent of the 1 percent.

Lakowe lakes in Lagos and sunrise Hills in Abuja are my favourite of the 10 estates listed here. The rest have houses built to closed to each other. Looking forward to when Eko Atlantic city in Lagos and Millenium city in Abuja would be fully developed. Port Harcourt really needs to step up her game as private real estate development isn't as advanced as Abuja and Lagos despite being the heartbeat of Nigeria's second richest state as well as West Africa's hub for the oil and gas industry. Hopefully, Greater Port Harcourt city development will finally feature large scale private housing developments

Same here, so many people complained why I did not list other states, the sad truth is that only Lagos and Abuja has the most Premium neighborhood in the country and it’s not my fault… I just documented it 📸

Dear Mr. Steven, nice job! Pls is the Victoria Garden City (VGC) now obsolete? I thought it used to be one of the outstanding Residences/ Estates in Lagos back then, even though the buildings are styled differently. I know it often messed up by flood though.

Have you finished taking care of the poor, crack heads and homeless In your country? Focus on that. Remove the forest in your eye before trying to remove the speck in others. If you want to know what is being done for the poor in this country tune in to the thousands of humanitarian channels or watch videos or vloggers that cover that subject matter. This is a REAL ESTATE page and you are here busy whining about charity work and the poor.. ooh boy😅😅

Only Lagos and Abuja have the best estates and houses because they have the most congregation of wealthy people. I say give states the power and incentive to drive their own economy and I promise your such tasteful properties will start popping up in other cities gradually. This is because, a lot of people would like to live in other cities/states but only Lagos and Abuja offer better opportunities for success. This is also the reason why they are already congested. I love these estates and am really happy that such properties could be found in Nigeria but I wish the country is providing fair playing ground for almost every citizen. Great video Mr. Ndukwu. This is a great content. I want to point out 3 things, though. 1. Lakowe is unarguably Nigeria's finest estate. 2. Godab isn't even the finest estate in that neighborhood. Brains & Hammers, just 200 metres down the road, is a better designed estate. 3. Security-wise, Aso Villa is Nigeria's most protected estate. You can't be neighbours with the president and flanked by DSS and various military barracks without that robbing off. Great content, all the same.

Asides the distance to city area, Lakuwe is the best deal in Lagos. The idea is better than Banana, and in no time, Banana Island billionnaires will start running there. Talking about completely builtup estate in Lagos, Ikoyi is still the best. Even after decades, is still shaded and exquisite only for the power rangers.

Good , i think you only choose top 10 based on cost and personalities in those estates also the presence of islands . However ,there are also beautiful estates in other states like Enugu , PH , Akwa ibom etc. Next time do top 50 lets see other states that features. Thanks.

Interesting how these estates provide what the government of most countries would provide from taxes; well-maintained roads, proper space planning, security personnel, electricity, water, etc. Nigeria still has a long way to go.

Regarding your advice on the Pinnock Beach Estate and not enforcing one style of building for one section, they probably did it that way for a reason. In most developed countries, it is done that way. The style of community you are referring to is is called “cookie cutter” homes. They are for the middle and lower class individuals. The ultra rich in most countries don’t want to have their houses looking similar to their neighbors or even anybody in their neighborhoods. Just my 2 cents.

Do not agree. Most houses that cost billions actually are a selection 2-3 styles on a development. It looks and feels more homely

@@tlamai9308 I was referring to what happens in most developed countries that the developer are apparently trying to mimic. In fact, no wealthy individual (above $500M income) in any developed country would even live in subdivisions, let alone have a neighbors house looking like theirs. That is a fact.

Nice to see our motherland been positively portrayed for a change. Thank you Steve for showing ignorant westerners that we dont' live in jungles or swing from trees. Shame that most still live in abject poverty whilst others live in these obscenely over priced properties.

It's the same all over the world. There are the uber rich, and there are the abjectly poor in every community. It's more glaring in Africa, for sure.

@Joy J Isn't poverty most glaring in Asia in terms of the number of poor and the level of poverty since the land is most limited in Asia? It is just the west likes emphasising the negatives on the African continent the most and I would not think the west few poor people with all the homeless, working three jobs I would not call that richness, paying mortgage for 30 years.
