@@SP3CTRUM_ENTERTAINMENTonly partially accurate. It is the moons gravitational pull the causes tides. It doesn't really work how he says at all. And what he said about time is a weird convoluted self assumed story about the studies done on quartz and other things for making watches. Time doesn't actually exist it's not a thing like electricity etc. It's just a way of keeping track of everything. And the studies on electrons for time was to see which ones react at exactly the 1 second we already used as time. Leave earth and sit in complete darkness time will have no application. Neil is a big ol dummy is my all and all

@@zyourzgrandzmazwhat. You know space travel affects time right? You know that astronauts who come back from a space mission come back having experienced time objectively different? In past steveo podcasts I hated that but him doing it kept giving info that was much needed free digestible info... We should thank him for making us smarter. Fact he's black makes it so much easier to say you think it's impossible to be super smart or a successful person of science??? Bssssss..... 😅 It's just a plus that he his black to because I see him as a semi tangible asset that offers a future in a stream of junk promoted. My words can be taken out of context but I mean that I'm glad a black kid can see a successful and intelligent person and go I want to be like him. That sounds stupid but has a lot of value in a day when all we get is stupidity regardless of race promoted to us. He's like a super hero of science and thought. 😂 I know if I was a young black kid I'd gravitate to him big time. Not to say as an adult I don't just that I'm grown and can't reach that same level of inspiration and motivations from another person again regardless of race. At this point your still offended I could careless lol😂 I was being nice with my intents for the record. I thought the interview was great, but my favorite part was at the very end in your closing. I've only seen your Corey Taylor interview twice now, but I'm excited to watch many more because you clearly have a passion and work ethic that is focused on making the best show possible. I believe that effort is more important than any technical details when it comes to podcasts or any form of entertainment. This show highlights one of the fundaemental flaws evident in people who don't have a grounding in science...the confusion of "theory" in science somehow being synonymous with a "hunch". When he says "I have a theory that birthmarks"..that isn't a scientific theory...it's wild speculation...a hunch...not grounded on any science. In Science a theory is supported by facts...it is not a hunch.

I feel like saying "No, just get the smart people on it" (Obviously that's not word for word) Makes so much sense. We can't refute that talented minds are the reason I'm making this comment today. Technology is moving so fast that if it's not blowing your mind a little, you're not thinking enough. I'm only 34 and I can tell you that watching the development of televisions, gaming systems, automobiles, and so many other things change, it's just unreal. While the world isn't perfect and things are hard right now and will be on and off throughout the rest of time, I'm actually very happy to be alive to see it.

I imagine interviewing someone with Neil Degrasse Tyson's tendencies to talk over and interrupt could be very annoying and irritating. But Dr Tyson is so overflowing with mind blowing information and is constantly finding new ways to ,not just explain nature, but make it easier for the average viewer to relate to the data and concepts of science. I think Steve-O handled this interview like a pro. With a guest like DR Tyson, Those interruptions should be welcomed because each time Tyson starts to steer the interview he always takes it to a place of astonishment. As a 42 year old I can honestly say its extremely rare for my brain to fire off all the chemicals that lets say a 5 year old might experience on christmas morning. But almost everytime i hear Dr Tyson do one of these long form interviews, it takes me back to that sort of feeling of excitement and curiosity and wonder. (I can't explain it better than that.) But i just realized the main reason he is able to stir up that stew of brain chemicals in me is because that's exactly how he reacts to this stuff too. So in a sense He is sharing that excitement and wonder with us that he has somehow managed to keep alive and naturally evokes on a regular basis through his passionate curiosity and love of science. What Dr Tyson has to offer this world is almost magical which to me makes him legendary. I truly belive 200 years from now (if humans still exist), Neil deGrasse Tyson will be as well known if not more than even Einstein. Not for rewriting science like many of science's heavy hitters that we still speak of today, (newton, einstein, etc), but for his brilliant and exceptionally rare ability to teach and share his passion with science. I think we are extremely lucky to have Dr Tyson around. And every time he interrupts or speaks over an interviewer, it should be celebrated. IMHO its a reason to be excited and no reason to feel annoyed. And big thanks to Steve-O for being a great host to an amazing guest. great show!!!
