Sleepovers are for kids. When you go to "sleepover" with the person you're dating you're more than likely will end up "sleeping" in the same bed. Sounds like another name for sex.

I don't think ppl should have sleepovers while dating. Dating comes before the courtship. To me, dating is that period of time when you find out if you like either enough to either separate or continue on as couple with labels (aka courtship/relationship). After the courtship begins when it's established that you're in a relationship, then sleepovers can come into question. Sleeping over or having sex during that ambiguous stage of dating can turn into a long term situationship instead of a relationship.

I was dating someone for almost 5 months. And no sleepovers. We saw each other twice per week. Once during the week for just around 2 hrs. And once on the weekend for a date around 3 hrs. I wanted more closeness, but he was more of an avoidant attachment style. Preferred his freedom and autonomy, strict bedtime, daily routines to never be interrupted, etc. Needless to say, it didn’t work out. I once brought up that some people like more closeness in a relationship (like me), whereas others like more space, and that I thought he seemed like someone who likes more space in a relationship. And his response was, “Well that doesn’t sound good.” 😂 He was very sweet, but we weren’t compatible. In more ways than this. I would tell him things i liked about him and he would thank me and tell me that it felt good to hear, but he wasn’t able to do the same thing back, because he said that men weren’t supposed to be vulnerable, because it was “weak.” I’ve literally never dated someone who didn’t tell me the things they liked about me. He was middle aged and middle eastern, so it could have been an age and/or cultural thing. Not sure, but, this girl needs more closeness and connection! He was an absolute snuggle bug, which was really nice. And great at acts of service. Extremely consistent and reliable. But emotionally, I felt kept at arms length, and that was really tough for me.
