I always wondered if the executives ever listened to the show. Because Anthony was great with all the comedians and really needed a show of his own. Him with Patrice, Jimmy, Vos, and without Opie. It would still be better than H.stern any day.

No, in fact it is common to hunt these sorts of animals for various reasons, be it the animal is old and will be put down anyway or the animal is a threat to other animals and will be put down anyway. You have no idea how any of this works or why it is done.

Hypothetically, if the woman who shot the lion paid enough coin to save even 2 lions, would it be okay then? Not looking for an argument on feelings, I agree that her style is distasteful, but selective culling in exchange for a month of operating expenses for a game preserve has to be worth it, yes?

Animals are hunted here for meat. It is during a specific season and is regulated due to the mass influx of deer etc. nothing about this is true about lions. That is all.

South Africa is not a poor mation. A lot of the gold and diamonds of the world come from there. They could ban hunting and not feel it at all financially. They certainly don't have an abundance of lions if there's only 35,000 in the whole world.

In some parts of Africa the alternative to wealthy westerners coming over to hunt for trophies is large-scale poaching by heavily armed gangs. The hunting tourism industry provides jobs to the local people who then have a strong financial incentive to _not_ poach the game because their relatives are hunting guides, cooks, etc. at the hunting lodges. Poaching is the real problem in Africa, not rich foreign hunters.

The difference between doing something and someone judging you for it, and flat out murdering something for you own ego, is massive. I am not against hunting the right animals for the right reasons. The bottom line is Lions are hunted for their heads. The one thing I am glad for is when a Lion, even a drugged Lion is shot, it does not retreat, it immediately charges and attacks its aggressor, my hope is more Lions will get their shooter before they die. This is the reason for all the jackasses with guns alongside a so called HUNTER. She did not stalk this Lion. She shot it after it was brought in for a canned, paid for hunt. Basically she and anyone who “hunts” these animals this way, are low life scum who are, in the animal world, equal to child molesters and rapists in the human realm. I only hope her career as an asshole with a gun is ruined. May the internet bullies be unleashed on her.

People are acting like she did something illegal. She paid for permits, she did nothing illegal, she wasn't hunting just to kill, the meat was donated to people in need which is actually a standard practice in Africa. Hunting is also a huge economy boost in Africa. I'm not saying this isn't sad, I love lions, but the fact people are thinking she went out and purely just wanted to kill something, its quite ridiculous.

Many have. But she is a HIGH PROFILE figure who has done this and my hope is that this lion's death will be the one that really wakes people up to the needless killing of this amazing animal and others and my hope is many more people will get involved in stopping this kind of head hunting activity. posted below was my response to another post about this senseless killing of this amazing creature.

They’re old and the pride needs culling. It really does help since it’s illegal to poach and lions are apex predators. Money helps the sanctuary’s pays the game wardens. Not my thing but it really does help

Jimmy is wrong about this, these hunting reservation raise lions and other endangered species in massive reservations. The hunters pay tens of thousands of dollars to hunt these animals which go towards maintaining the reservation and protecting these animals from extinction often times the meat is donated to feed families in Africa. This woman is actually a lion hero.

Atheieye Yes it does, that's the whole point, they aren't snatching these lions out from the wild, they are bred and raised in captivity. Not all of them are killed either some are released back into the wild or into reservations where hunting isn't allowed raising the population. they could not afford to do this if the hunters were not paying exorbitant sums of money to hunt them.

I'm pretty sure the lion meat was donated. Not only that, but culling is necessary to a point. She is doing a service imo. I know i don't have the balls to kill like that, yet it does need to be done. And its putting food on her family's table/roof over their head...? If she was poaching I would get the outrage. But it costs thousands of dollars to get those tags and the hunting trip. That's besides the fact that guns for big game are only effective up to about 150 yards if I've been reading correctly. It's probably the fairest hunt there is. Lions eat by picking off the weakest, sickest, and slowest in a herd. They look cuddly, but they would tear you in half because they are predators of opportunity. Still, I morally object. But I don't think that this hunting should be banned. It just means I won't shell out the money to go to Africa. Besides, I'm gonna guess that these countries aren't getting much in the way of tourism. Those hunters are putting a ton of money in that economy.

Google "Canned Hunt"...and you will be shocked to see that (for a price) you can KILL Lion, Zebra, Panther, etc at a number of "Clubs" in the USA--most are in TEXAS. (Ted Nugent has his own in Michigan). "Weekend Warriors" pay between $4,000- 7,500K (avg) to kill a drugged, sickly, or retired circus/zoo animal. YES--right here in the USA.... shamefully !!
