In 1981, six years after joining Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks went solo for the first time with her debut album ‘Bella Donna’. A massive success, it sold more than five million copies in the U.S., topped the album charts and produced four hit singles, including her signature anthem, "Edge Of Seventeen." More platinum albums followed - ‘The Wild Heart’ (1983), ‘Rock A Little’ (1985), and ‘The Other Side Of The Mirror’ (1989).
In 2019, Stevie Nicks made history by becoming the first female artist inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice - first as a member of Fleetwood Mac in 1998, and most recently in recognition of an extraordinary solo career that spans nearly 40 years.

When Don Henley first comes in, it gives me goosebumps every time. He is a great singer - but he never sounded better than he does in this song. I don't know how this duet happened, but she picked the perfect person to do it with. And it will be around forever because of it.

I started listening to Stevie when I was only 13 and when I used to listen to this song, I would feel a certain way. After a while, that feeling vanished. But recently, I’ve started listening to the song in absolute silence and I felt that way again after years of just going through my ordinary life with this on in the background. With Stevie and Don’s vocals, it makes the song feel almost perfect as if this song were made for them.

Last night I ended a really good but new relationship with a man because I have been diagnosed with cancer. He lives a lifestyle that I dont think I can handle while I heal on this new journey of mine. I am so sad but this song reminds me of us. I start chemo next week. Maybe when I beat cancer we can come back together. I don’t want him to see me get ugly while he goes out to bars with friends and surrounded by beautiful healthy women. Men are very visual. So we broke up… on good terms… but I’m just beside myself. I did it because I love myself and I just love him so much. I dont know how this song applies but somehow it does. I love this song. Its timeless and magical.

Stay strong! What is meant to be will be. Men can be visual but we have hearts too. My partner was diagnosed with lupus. She tried to let me go because she was sick. I understand where you are coming from. Just hang in there!

I've never been a big fan of Stevie Nicks or Fleetwood Mac-- they just never really touched me like certain other artists and songs. Something about this song, though. I have a soft spot in my heart for Don Henley because my late mother just loved him. This song...their voices....this is just an underrated masterpiece!!

@@lescobrandon3047 I've always struggled to articulate what it was about her singing that kept me from really getting into it-- and she DOES seem to mumble...and for me, she doesn't enunciate clearly. In modern music, Ariana Grande is NOTORIOUS for it....when they sing certain phrases and words, you'd think there were only vowels...no consonants!😂

@GhettoFights1045 to be fair, after reading your question, i went through my music collection, and it looks like I've only heard a small portion of FM's entire discography, and my opinion is incorrectly formed based on Stevie Nicks' solo work. I will definitely give Rumours a listen! Thanks!

@GhettoFights1045 OMG you are amazing! I literally just took a screenshot of that list so I can save it! The fact that you can break a band's discography down to track by track recommendations tells me that A)you're a true music fan who really LISTENS to albums, rather than just radio singles and B) you're a true FM fan and have a genuine love, respect, and adoration for them and their art. Thank you so much for taking the time to put that comprehensive list together for me! I'm a freelance writer, and it looks like tonight's brainstorming session will be soundtracked by Fleetwood Mac!! I am so grateful for this, that I wish there was an artist I could share with you!😂😂 Thanks again💖💖

sweet song for 2 new lovers to sing together while he played his acoustic 12 string sitting at the campfire surrounded by friends. 10 years prior to that, I had the pleasure of seeing Stevie in OKC in 1985. I was 15 and I went with a group of people in the little lake area community I lived in at the time. We got seats at the bottom of the first high rise off the floor at the Myriad (no longer called the Myriad) and had the perfect view of the stage! it couldn't have gotten any sweeter. Her live performance is as on point as the recording. Its been too many years and I cant remember the highlights now - but I named my second daughter Dakota Rian after Rhiannon in 1994.
