srv was able to reconnect with his angel spirit in his flesh ... he is under full "possession"/connection too (you gotta ask for "holy spirit " connection too our creator (master) Jehovah' "holy spirit"... its willed connection/"possession" ... its amazing ... well srv is under holy spirit connection and is "in tune" with nature like a tuning fork so hes become a maestro of harmonics/"music" ...

@@NunYaO There are many good guitarists who have come, are still around, or have gone.... Gary Moore, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, etc. They all had their own styles. Ren isn't doing anything that hasn't been done before, and better. He's actually somewhat boring and mediocre.

Yes having lived in Austin during his heyday, I got to see him play live many times . I also got to see all the greats that came through town . And I can say that no one ever came close to doing what Stevie Ray did on guitar. He was simply the best bar none.

Totally agree. The live at El Mocambo is one of the best live performances ever recorded bar none. He was on fire as was the band and it captured an amazing musical moment in time. Man, I wish I could've been there in person. Brilliant.

Stevie Ray Vaughan is the GOAT of Blues guitarists. He could channel most every Blues guitarists, including Hendrix, BB King, and others.

SRV was an amazing gift for the short time we had his genius and virtuosity. He was channeling something beautiful and single-handedly revitalized blues/rock during a time when I can remember it was said that the genre was dead. RIP brother Stevie. You are missed.

It was almost dead, except in Austin and a couple other places where the old blues masters were welcomed, and younger white kids tried to keep it going. It was considered old folks’ music, like big band swing and early rock & roll.

He is the G.O.A.T.. Even before playing behind his back he very rarely even looks at where his fingers are on the fret board. He knows every inch of that land. Your reaction was spot on. He was born in Dallas Texas and started playing night clubs when he was 14. His brother Jimmy Vaughn is also a great guitarist. As we say in Texas; y'all be safe.

I saw Stevie and Jimmie at KC in 87-88 area at Memorial Auditorium. Not looking at fingers is a lesson for every profession. Don't look... feel and do. Sight is a crutch

What's perhaps most impressive is that most guitarists would break their fingers trying to play that guitar. Stevie got that "thick" sound by using VERY thick strings. Watching him bend those notes, just mashing those strings across the neck with ease... is kind of amazing.

Yep. The high E string was .013, low E .060. Very difficult to play ANYTHING on such a heavy string set, let alone what Stevie is doing.

@@daveman_50he used a custom set with a G string that was much lighter. I use 11-54 but just recently learned that his G was much lighter than mine, even though the E strings were bigger.

I managed a music hall in the early 80s and had Stevie Ray twice. I’ve seen them all and he was the best ever. I took him some George Dickle and he said sit down here with me and have a drink. So I proceeded to pour us shots and he played that guitar unplugged for about 20 minutes. Man what a blessing. Humble nice guy and so talented that the music just flowed out of him. Tremendous concert!

I love people's reactions to Stevie. Especially those in the music world who can play. I heard a quote from Jimmy Vaughan years ago about Stevie. "Ya know he couldn't read music at all, and for him it was just another chance to play on stage". This is just how good the man was. It was just another gig for him and this is what Everyone got, Everywhere he went.

I always struggle with Stevie and Hendrix as the goat...SRV mastered Jimmy's style but Jimmy was a pioneer,SRV had almost 10yrs more life to perfect his playing,what would we have seen of Jimmy with more years under his belt perfecting his craft??😒 BUT Stevie Ray's unrelenting flow pushes him over the top imo 🤙

Texas Flood was written in 1958. It was around three minutes long. The rest is Stevie Ray’s improvisation. There is a whole concert on KZfaq of Stevie Ray playing various acoustic guitars called MTv Unplugged -Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Stevie Ray was the real deal, He came onto the music seem with a thunderous slap of bluesy rock that was so needed. He was and still is considered one of the best. Heaven has a hell of a band up there with Stevie Ray

Thank you brother. And this was a really fun reaction. I'm a lifetime musician myself, but I really enjoyed the dynamic of you being a classical guitar player and just glimpsing what this guy was all about. I was lucky enough to see him three times before he died in the helicopter crash. Down to earth, mind-blowing, self-effacing, humble, but a total badass. I'm so glad you shouted out the rest of the trio because his Double Trouble Man was not only fantastic at holding down the beat while he did all this crazy stuff, they were friends and they were super tight and you can hear it. I really loved the reaction.

I used to think there was another guitarist playing in addition to the drums and base. It was only him! Unbelievable but when one watches him it is undeniable! He is fun to watch in every video he does! He loved Hendrix and does justice to him.

I'm from the Dallas as was Stevie Ray. I had the pleasure of seeing him in Dallas as well as Austin. I lived in Austin from the late '60s' to mid/late '70's. And saw him a number of times. Those concerts could get rowdy. I loved it all. When I saw Stevie when he was a nobody I knew he was going to he a smash some day. And he was. I was stunned to hear of his death. I actually cried when I heard of his death and was in a funk for quite a while. I was almost as heartbroken for his death as I was of Jimi's Great musician who always worked his ass off. And he used 13 gauge strings on his Stratocaster. There're usually used on an acoustic Dreadnaught for flat picking. I put 13 gauge strings on my Les Paul just to try it out. After a few minutes my fingers were killing me. And it was off with the 13's and back to the 9's. That he could make those amazing bends with those heavy strings was awesome. Well, guess that's it for me. RIP, Stevie Ray and Jimi. I'd like to think they're together and playing things we've never heard of and thought were impossible.

You should do yourself a favor and watch everything out there that Stevie Ray ever did. He freestyled every performance and never played a song the same way twice. He idolized Jimi Hendrix, and he actually performed Voodoo Child many times, using Jimi's actual wah wah pedal that was gifted to him. Every performance is different, yet mind blowing. He played with the Blues greats such as BB King and Johnny Copeland. He didn't know how to read music, and many critics love to trash him because of that. They will deliberately leave his name out of their Best lists and use his unique style against him. It was common knowledge back in the day, that he would play until his fingertips were calloused and when they fell off, he'd Super Glue em back on and keep on playing. He also played with his teeth. Actually lost a tooth doing it on Life Without You. He just keeps on playing and singing as he casually looks around the stage for his tooth. He is a demi god here in Texas, and we have a statue of him in Austin. RIP Stevie Ray 💔🕊🎸🤠🥳

I'm always amazed and proud to see people's reaction to this video, people are in shock to see such a powerful and delicate piece of showmanship, thier mouths drop open and eyes get big and the song just started, and I always think "wait til he plays behind his back"! then it happens and some reactors have to stop the video and think about WTF is goin on? The talent is staggering, then I read comments like "he's very repetitive" and " he steals Albert King licks" the repetitive comment is silly in the blues world and Albert King was one of Stevies biggest idols and it shows, but Stevie added the fire and his own style, even covering Hendrix he puts his own stamp on it and kills it! Sometimes I wonder if critics have ever watched Stevies live performances? or ever tried playing an electric guitar ar all? ( especially with the monster gauge strings Stevie used) One of the very best ever to pick up a guitar! Stevie Ray Vaughan and the Fender Stratocaster since 1954!

I got to see him in person twice. Once as a surprise walk in at a bar in Austin, TX and once in concert in Dallas. All I can say is I feel special and lucky to have received a little part of his soul. That is how he played. As if he were allowing every ounce of his soul to pour from him through his music for those in his presence to take into themselves. It was almost spiritual gift he offered up. RIP my fellow Texan. We miss you so much. Sending love to you.

Yeah it’s amazing! I got to see Stevie Ray Vaughan and Eric Clapton in Cincinnati Ohio shortly before he passed away. One of a kind true icon musical genius and a lot of cocaine and you get some, once in a lifetime playing like that!

Power trio is an actual term used in rock to describe 3 piece bands like this, Rush, Triumph, ZZ top and Jeff Beck to name some of them. His performance of Life Without You at the Capitol theater has a lot including an early guitar change and losing a tooth while picking the strings with them.

I'v probably seen 50 people react to this. A first time reaction to SRV is particularly interesting, even more so when the reactor is a musician. I'd seen SRV play live, only once, and it was literally a jaw dropping performance. Here, a classical guitarist being blown away by SRV, and i'm not really even surprised.

It always seemed to me like he never really "played" the guitar but he just let the music inside him flow from his soul through his fingers to the strings and out the amps. RIP SRV
