No words can truly do justice to describe how this man played
@robmaynard5524

You're right there are no words. It's too bad you didn't get to see the man live. I saw him twice in 85 on his Soul to Soul Tour and in 89 on his In Step Tour I didn't blink a eye cause I was scared I would miss something. Buddy Guy one of Stevie's idols said Stevie was one of those players that come around once in a lifetime and when they are here they are around for a short time then they're gone. Stevie in my opinion is the G.G.O.A.T. greatest guitarist of all time. My he RIP. If you look he breaks a string almost at the end and keeps playing like nothing happened

The great thing about Stevie Ray was you could see him play a song 3 days in a row and it would be different each time, the only thing not different was how epic each performance was!

His career span only 7 years, his album Texas Flood debuted in 1983 he was the 1st Musician inducted into the Austin Music Hall Of Fame in 1982, Blues Hall Of Fame in 2000, he won 6 Grammys, 10 Austin Music Awards, 5 W.C. Handy Awards, he was Entertainer Of The Year, Instermental Of The Year, he was nominated for 51 Awards and won 21 and it's sad that he only had one #1 hit with Crossfire. He's last album was In Step it was his 4th album in 1989 and was the most successful releases. He inspired so many other guitar players when he was inducted into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2015 John Meyer said because of his idol Stevie Ray Vaughan he turned down every drink and drug offered to him because he wanted to be just like Stevie Ray. Stevie was beyond amazing he was in a class all of his own, there will never be another Stevie Ray Vaughan EVER.

When I was a teenager here in Brazil I was randomly switching channels on my TV and all a sudden I saw this guy wearing a cowboy hat and playing the sh*t out of the guitar. My jaw litteraly dropped...And in my mind I said to myself: "He is the best in the world". Never changed my mind since then...

Stevie used very heavy gauge strings on his guitars, and because his fingers are so strong, he would still breaks them. He had very fast and strong fingers, and we were blessed to see him play, even though his life was cut short.

Pretty much any video of Stevie is phenomenal. He breaks a string playing Look at Little Sister and does a seamless guitar swap mid song, But another great one is Stevie and Jimmie (his brother) playing a dual necked guitar on the song Pipeline.

👏👋👏🙌🎸🎶‼️ great reaction and welcome the best Rabbit Hole there is. Make yourself comfortable and prepared to be truly moved and awestruck. And yes you are right. That guitar is as much a part of him as his other facilities. He completely owns the guitar and it gives voice to this man's heart and soul. And that is the thing. He was a really humble great guy and very much loved by all who knew him. The 31st anniversary of his passing is coming up on August 27th. It would be very fitting if you reacted to "Life Without You" live at the Capitol Theatre. Stevie wrote that song after his good friend Charley, a Dallas guitar shop owner, passed away suddenly. Part of the lyrics is thanking his friend for the love he passed our way. Those are the same words engraved on his grave marker. He vocals are so tender and emotional, has to switch out an out of tune guitar, plays so exquisitely, gives a short heartfelt message, and is a must watch. "Life With You" is what we will be thinking about Stevie on that date.

Harriet is correct here. It would be a lovely thing for you to watch Life Without You. My favorite performance for many reasons. I think for SRV playing was somehow truly spiritual. I can’t say that I’m religious - but… watching him is as close as I’m going to get to feeling something higher.

Very few guitarists have got to where Stevie was. Django and Danny come to mind. Playing the guitar was easy for them. Any musical idea that entered their head they could transfer it to the guitar without being conscious of it. Regardless of how complicated Django once said. I can hear music in my head that I know is impossible to play on a guitar Stevie was the same

Alot of people will say "no Steve Ray isn't the best it's Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai ect " but when you can show me anyone that could play as long as Stevie Ray behind his back, play with one hand, his teeth, use his elbow, pick the guitar, adjust his Amp, tune his guitar and play with a broken string and switch guitar in the middle of a performance then we can talk. Stevie Ray Vaughan was, is and will always be THE GOAT and there will never be another Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Although this is a cover of Jimi Hendrix song voodoo chile, (yes that is the correct spelling) And if you listen carefully Stevie ray actually does say chile not child. I must say to you though, this is the only cover of that song that you would swear it was Jimi Hendrix channeling through Stevie. He does embellish a little bit here and there, but it is it is within the spirit like I said of Jimi Hendrix
