I am glad you caught the broken string…many people miss it. It is incredible how he just played through it. The GOAT for sure. ❤🙏

👏🙌🎊🎉🪅‼️Yeah for more Stevie Ray🎸💙🎶‼️ I enjoyed your reaction. And thanks Mo for the request👋✌️. Because Stevie plays in the moment there is always a freshness that keeps it interesting. IMHO the last word in a Voodoo Chile performance is his Toyko 1985 performance. He takes his time (about 15 mins), and just lets his creativity weave riffs in and out of the main melody, paying tribute to the original but added so much to it that it feels like it should have been there. The camera angles, the video and audio quality is excellent and it is a must see for you‼️I would love to hear your reaction to that one as you have already done two. The ACL performance you did is a TV Studio audience that has been told to stay quiet. I think he geared his performance to fit the time restraints etc. in Toyko he just lets loose. Thanks again for bringing this✌️🎸🎶💙

You should check out SRV's Voodoo Chile at The Cotton Club. It's a very close second to Tokyo.

Pronunciation is correct. Thanks for taking me up on my recommendation. This is my favorite Voodoo Child version of his also. Glad you enjoyed it. Now its time you see his "Life Without You" that he wrote in memory of his friend that passed live from the Capitol theatre in NJ. Pay close attention to all that is happening when you do.🎶🎶👍

Great version, but you might want to check out the 1989 version again (for yourself). You might have forgotten a few things! Keep on with Stevie. Love your reactions!

It makes no sense, and is actually counterproductive to compare SRV performances. There are at least six different versions of Voodoo Chile on KZfaq, and they're all completely different. It's best just to sit back and enjoy them all, and marvel at the genius of each one.

I get that, but some performances are subjectively better than others. I like what I like, and vice versa.

As good as the original.

I'm actually not going to watch that. That request is in the queue and is coming up in the next week or so. I'll add your name to the list of requestors of this song though.
