I have had mine for about 80 rounds. It takes 2-3 rounds to get comfortable with and several more to get "expert". You can send it down very steep inclines by using the stop button a few times. You are correct that follow mode is not practical in all areas but you know that going in. There are other situations and benefits one learns after using. Two of my favorites: After number 9 tee at my course, there is a big hill to get to the fairway. I send the cart on its way and then jump in my buddy's riding cart and he take me to my ball. I then complete the Q's journey to my ball. This happens at a few places on my course Another situation is helping someone find their ball. I can leave the Q in the fairway and waling to the trees and help look. I can exit a different way and then bring the cart up to my ball. Guys carrying their bag would have to walk back to wherever they left their bag. As far as cost goes, I played 80 rounds with the Q this year. A riding car is $30 rental. 80 x $30 is $2,400. I bought a Refurbed Q and so it paid for itself in less than one year and I got the health benefits of walking. Before that I pushed Sun Mountain manual cart. At 66 years old, I found I was getting tired at around 15 holes. With the Q, I feel great all the way through. Also, I find the Q much less distracting that driving a riding cart.

What a fantastic comment, thanks so much for watching and sharing! You’ve made some great points I didn’t pick up on in my review, especially regarding looking for your/others balls, and the cost. I hadn’t really considered the cost factor as using a buggy is far less common in the UK 👍

Thanks for the review! However we just wanted to clarify a few inaccuracies in this: - The wheels do not need to be unclipped in manual mode. Manual mode is simply using the handset to power the trolley as normal, while using one hand to steer the trolley (in car parks, or in tight spaces. - Unclipping the wheels is for 'freewheel' mode. A feature that is there to help turn this into a push trolley, if you ever find yourself out on the course with a dead battery - making it easier to move, instead of pushing against the motors. - When unfolding, the handle and main spine unfold in one single motion. The button likely became stiff as this was unfolded incorrectly. - While downhill braking isn't a feature in Remote mode, as shown in the video, it is a feature of Follow mode, so the Q will be perfectly capable of following you on slopes without crashing into you - we test this on some incredibly hilly courses too! We're pleased to see you enjoyed using the Q Follow overall though 😊

So you are supposed to push the button before you lift the handle up from the main body of the cart? I lift the handle up first and then push the button to extend the top part of the handle and it is hard to press for me also.
@StewartGolf

@@darrylk we find it's always easier to unfold in one motion, pressing the button before lifting the handle. Our Customer Care team are always on hand too - if your button is very difficult to press then they will be happy to advise 😊

It also wheels easy if you turn the battery off or remove the battery.

@stewartgolf his trolley is moving around quite a bit in follow mode. Is that because he has the remote clipped to his *front* pocket? I don’t own one but I’ve seen them being used by others. The users always clipped the remote in back, either to a belt or back pocket. The trolley seems to follow much smoother like that.

Had a X9 Follow before and have to say, it was a game changer. Been out the game for a couple of years but have joined a club for next year. Have placed an order for the Q Follow and don't think I will be surprised by the quality and updated follow system. Buy British when you can!!!

This video has helped me as I thought that only my Q Follow weaved about while in follow mode. The follow mode doesn’t work well enough in my opinion. I would have to walk far to slowly for it to be of any use. If I walk at my normal pace the trolly weaves about all over the place. Really disappointed in this aspect of the trolly.

I have one, and I like it, but I would not buy another one. The big issue is they got rid of their service packages. It was terrible planning by the company, and I'd say something the CEO should be fired over. When you buy a $3000 product, you expect to be able to have it repaired. This is not a throwaway and replace product. After a couple of years and a couple hundred rounds of golf, this thing will break. On mine, the wheels are worn out, the rear stabilizer doesn't lock, and the wheel guards broke off. Not sure how long this one has to go but I'll be looking at other options once it dies (since it can't be repaired)

Thanks very much for the informative video. I'm thinking of getting one of these, so this was a big help. I noticed the cart tended to jerk to the left and right when it was following you, which isn't what you see in most of the promotional videos. Does it smooth things out if the remote is hooked to your back pocket instead of your front pocket? Or, would another possible cause be that the bag is lighter than what is recommended by Stewart?
@GolfGuyReviews
@GolfGuyReviews 6 ай бұрын
Perhaps some other owners watching this video could help answer? Thanks for watching Gary. I didn’t notice if the jerking was normal, I dont remember if putting it square on my back fixed it. I don’t think the cart bag I as using would have caused it.

I have the X10 follow and the follow mode is incredibly jerky. So bad, that I thought I had a defective unit and sent a video to Stewart. Nope, that's expected behavior. I also made the comment to them that's not what I see in the promotional videos.

Some realities. I’ve had mine for nearly 3 years now. Flimsy construction - YES.. My handle has broken twice - replaced both times by Stewart, but almost spontaneous breaks - no maltreatment, - so be really careful with it much more so than a normal trolley. Does it always follow? NO - occasionally it will stop, or worse go off randomly, which can be embarrassing as it’s behind you and you dont always realize, especially if you are chatting. So you need to keep an eye on it. I’m a member of 2 clubs - one a high class and open-plan links course, use follow mode there 80-90% of time, great. The other a hilly tight course, use follow mode 10%. Horses for courses. And last, Stewart Golf. Sounds like they are good for care and followup in the UK but not elsewhere. I live in Australia and they have zero backup for their poor Australian distributor (one only, who has changed recently after being treated badly by Stewart). Stewart wont answer important questions like those above, and as a result I needed some 60 emails, 2 trips for repair, just to get my trolley fully functional, and even now it still often doesnt stop when I press the stop button - it speeds up! Stewart seem to think this is ‘normal’ - in fact it is unsafe and they dont know how to fix it. Overall my trolley has been out of action for around 6 months of the time Ive owned it. So value for money? Well it is a lovely trolley when it’s working, but it’s not cheap, and fortunately I can afford it and have a backup. So probably make sure you have the financials before you start as you will need them. And on balance I would not buy one again living where I do, simply because Stewart dont provide the aftercare in Australia.

Oh, and to confirm the below, the handle IS very stiff and always has been, needs a strong push of the button - so if you are Ageing or have weak hands, probably avoid it just for this reason.

Thanks for watching and sharing. Sounds like a lot of hassle when something goes wrong with your trolley in Oz. Glad someone else confirmed the handle is flimsy like I did - I hadn’t seen anyone comment that in a review. For the significant outlay, I would expect the trolley to work perfectly

What your audience needs to consider is the Axglo E5. It is less expensive, built with better materials and IMO, a signafigantly better follow me trolley.

Often thought about getting one of these but they more trouble than they are worth particularly the Q Follow. The remote control unit is far too large and the handle bars are a bit flimsy not what you would expect from a premium brand and price.

Get the Motocaddy M7 remote - its solidly built and very easy to handle. Also wheels reverse to reduce the footprint when storing.

I guess there’s a sweet spot for the control we to be bigger enough so it’s easy to use, and small enough so it’s convenient: plus it has to fit the Bluetooth tech in to enable to follow feature. I was surprised too as the flex on the handles

@@GolfGuyReviews Haha, I should have been more specific lol On another point and this applies to the Stewart Trolleys and the Motocaddy M7 remote. It really pisses me off when you are paying top dollar for a trolley when they want to screw you even more on accessories and replacement items. For example the M7 remote replacement is circa £140, winter wheels another £90, accessories kit £75, they give you nothing for free and rip you off on accessories. Take the remote, it probably costs them no more than £50 max to have produced (probably a lot less) and given that it is something that could easily get lost they should be selling you a replacement at cost given the £1200 you have invested in their product. But nope, also a friend has just purchased a Stewart trolley (£1100) and asked for winter wheels to be told they had none in stock and it would around two months before they got any - and this from a supposed Rolls Royce of trolleys company....very poor indeed.
