Stewed Pork With Mui Choy (Preserved Vegetables) 梅菜焖猪肉 Homecooked Specials 家常焖猪肉 包你垂涎三尺
Hey everyone, welcome back to G8stromania. Today, we are going to be introducing another homecooked special: Stewed pork with preserved vegetables. This dish is one of my favourite dishes, because it's really simple to make it and it's packed full of flavour, perfect to go with rice!
To make this dish, you will need the following ingredients:
450g pork belly
8 cloves of garlic
150g salty preserved vegetables
350g sweet preserved vegetables
1 star anise
20g rock sugar
Seasonings:
2 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tbsp dark soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
Steps:
1. Fry the sweet and salty preserved veg. for 2 minutes without oil
2. Remove fragrant preserved veg. and set aside for later use.
3. Fry garlic in 1 tbsp oil until fragrant. Add star anise.
4. Add the pork once fragrant.
5. Once the pork turns white, add in 1L boiling water.
6. Add preserved veg. and boil 7 mins.
7. Add seasoning, then boil at least 45 mins.
8. Serve with hot rice
