Subscribed. The SEALs are humble and honest in their assessment. US ARMY and Marines are the best at what they do, ground combat. I think the Army even more so than the Corp but the Corp is just right behind them and not far off.

That and at 10:00 he just mixes up ranger TABBED guys with actual rangers (ranger SCROLLED, or rather the 75th ranger regiment). Ranger SCROLLED guys are a tier2 unit and are very often indeed attached to tier1 units to fill in numbers, and they are form 3 batallions (1sr, 2nd and 3rd). They will NEVER pick ranger TABBED randoms from the army to fill in the numbers in such high speed / security clearance missions. When you finish ranger school you get a TAB, and ANY member of the army can apply to this. Besides the hunger and lack of sleep (not as bad as hell week obviously, but they never get more than 5hours over the 2 months), it is quite easy Now, When you finish RASP you get a SCROLL , and become part of a USASOC unit called the 75th Ranger Regiment and they will make you get your TAB within 2 or 3 years of graduating from RASP, as a traditionnal thing to do... When you are tabbed, you are not necessarily an operator or a RANGER for that matter. When you are scrolled, you are.

@@Innominat9 My go to argument now is, you have females passing ranger school now, no female has passed RASP 1 selection. That's all that needs to be said.

@@MeliorIlle Precisely! RASP can be considered as a shorter version of BUD/s ... Some might even say that the physical requirements are even higher... Not the mental ones of course. And after all RASP is 2 months long, not 6. But still easily harder than Ranger School.

I signed an 11x op 40 contract in October. I leave in July. I'm training and rucking every day, but shit is stressing me out. I don't want to get kicked out of rasp and then get put wherever they want to put me.

I want to increase my pull-ups from 13 to at least 20 but I don’t know how
@DirtForm
@DirtForm 5 жыл бұрын
Do more full speed, if you can only get 8 or 9 full speed then stop at that and get some rest and do some more at full speed. Also do weighted pullups different days. Last thing that helped me was learning how to do a muscle up and now I can do 7-10 of them and do 25 pullups, probably 20 chin ups. Get after it!

Is there an age limit for ranger selection? Would you recommend someone early 30’s to attempt this type of career?
@ek7404
@ek7404 5 жыл бұрын
I believe you’re too old for an Op 40 contract, however 18x (Army SF) is a lot more lenient with age requirements. Most SF guys are early to mid 30s.

I graduated rasp with multiple 30 years olds. Our oldest guy in our class was 32. If you watch the nat geo video on rasp, the honor graduate was 34. It all depends on your physical fitness and focus completing the course

Evan Richards thanks man! I’m currently working on running. I’m right at around 8 mins per mile. I’m fighting for a 7.5 to 7 min mile pace. I think running and the ruck March are my biggest concerns personally. I have never rucked but I bought a ruck sack to implement that in my workouts here soon. I’m worried about wearing my feet out. I’d definitely like some pointers on foot care!
