People just seem to obsessed with becoming part the "old kids" and thus looking themselves as one of the "cool kids". I've always found that idea kind of silly. I don't believe that you need to get the older generation's approval just to be cool or accepted. People say and act like they respect each other, when they blatantly don't in daylight and make fun of each other for reasons they don't understand. I've always found that silly. I can totally live and have positive interactions with kids that don't fit my time and understanding, but the moment the topic goes to someone else from my era they're disgusted and they think I'm the weird and immature one because my ideals don't match theirs.

As a zalpha I feel qualified to talk about this. I’ve seen many of my gen z/alpha classmates either say “the older kids (gen z) don’t understand us!” Or “these babies (gen alphas) are so weird!” I just think it’s strange that so many people look up to the generation before them while also looking down on the generations after them.
